Beverage Director 3.5 3.5 out of 5 stars 22 A St, Lake Lotawana, MO 64086 Overview We are seeking a knowledgeable and passionate Sommelier to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of wines and beverages, providing exceptional service and enhancing the dining experience for our guests. As a Sommelier, you will play a crucial role in menu planning, wine selection, and upselling to ensure customer satisfaction while contributing to the overall success of our restaurant. Duties Curate and maintain an extensive wine list that complements the restaurant’s menu. Provide expert recommendations to guests regarding wine pairings and beverage selections. Conduct tastings and educational sessions for staff to enhance their knowledge of wines and beverages. Assist in menu planning by collaborating with the culinary team to create harmonious food and wine pairings. Manage inventory levels, including ordering, receiving, and organizing wine stock. Ensure compliance with food safety standards and regulations in all beverage service areas. Utilize POS systems effectively for cash handling, sales tracking, and reporting. Upsell wine selections during service to enhance guest experience and increase revenue. Qualifications Proven experience as a Sommelier or in a similar role within a restaurant or catering environment. Strong knowledge of wines, spirits, and food pairings; certification from a recognized sommelier program is preferred. Familiarity with POS systems, specifically Aloha POS or similar platforms. Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage guests and provide outstanding customer service. Experience in menu planning and culinary collaboration is highly desirable. Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently. A passion for food safety practices and maintaining high standards in beverage service.
