Job Summary:

Responsible for the daily operation of the cafeteria. Trains, directs, supervises, and coordinates activities of the foodservice employees receiving, preparing, cooking, issuing, and serving foods that meet quality and quantity standards of the department. Assures the continuity of service by opening as scheduled, resolving operational problems, applying standards, maintaining a safe and sanitary environment, monitoring cash handling, posting menus, generating requisitions for food and supplies, assisting Catering customers, attractively displaying products, posting pricing, entering Time and Attendance reports, and other duties as obvious and directed. Demonstrates knowledge and skills to appropriately communicate and interact with the patients, families, and visitors of all age groups while being sensitive to their cultural and religious beliefs. Complete other assignments by supervisors as given.

Performance Expectations:

Demonstrate procedure for printing daily reports from Micros system. Demonstrate procedure for adding/subtracting menu items to the registers and putting in pricing. Demonstrate how to print paperwork from Computrition. Demonstrate customer service by communicating and interacting with all customers. Demonstrate how to call in menu on menu phone line and how to add and subtract menus items and dates on the online menu board. Demonstrate how to count monies before and after the cashiers shift. Demonstrate how to make deposits in the business office. Demonstrate how to do transactions on the registers. Will need to show how to do employees, departments, catering and cash transactions. Demonstrate how to rotate and date all food items. Demonstrate effective communication with dept. staff.

Qualifications:
Education/Skills:

High school graduate or successful completion of GED required. Associate degree in applicable field or completion of dietary manager’s correspondence course preferred.

Work Experience:

Three years of work experience in a management or leadership position required. Food service experience preferred.
