The Lead Custodian is responsible for guiding a team of custodial workers in maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and safety of the facility. This role includes planning and executing cleaning schedules, managing custodial supplies and equipment, and ensuring that all cleaning procedures meet the organization’s standards. The Lead Custodian also plays a key role in training new staff, inspecting work quality, and responding to special cleaning requests or emergencies. Lead Facilities Custodian 2nd Shift Your main responsibilities will be: Instruct staff on proper cleaning and maintenance procedures. Implement health, safety and security procedures in the assigned facility. Responsible for planning, instructing and training custodians, and maintaining records as needed. Perform work cleaning and supporting daily activities in the facility. Demonstrate professional behavior, promoting positive relationships with apprentices, staff, publics, and peers. Performs daily duties as head custodian of assigned facility Assists in development of work schedules with manager Maintains facility maintenance records and submits work orders, requisitions, supply orders Performs preventative maintenance of sanitation equipment Coordinates custodial services for activities and events Inspect facilities and equipment Member of Crisis Intervention Team Daily

  • General Empty trash cans/replace liners Dust furniture and horizontal surfaces Dust mop concrete/laminate floors & vacuum carpets/ Entrance glass doors cleaned to remove fingerprints and smudges Wipe desk areas with disinfectant solution Drive and operate ZA shuttle as needed Other duties as assigned Daily
  • Restrooms Tile floors dust mopped and wet mopped with disinfectant cleaner Clean and disinfect wash basins, commodes, top and bottom seats and urinals Clean and polish dispensers, mirrors and fixtures Clean walls and partitions Restock paper towels, hand soap and toilet paper as needed Disinfectant Fogging Daily
  • Kitchens and Breakrooms Trash removal Countertops, chairs and tables wiped down Sinks cleaned and polished Microwaves cleaned inside and out Tile floors dust mopped and wet mopped with disinfectant cleaner Disinfectant Fogging Weekly Clean telephones Dust vertical furniture surfaces Wall and door surfaces cleaned, removing fingerprints or smudges around switches and knobs Disinfectant Fogging of office/conference room/lobby areas Monthly Dust vents, doorsills, lighting fixtures, ceiling corners and baseboards Blinds dusted on both sides Trash containers cleaned and sanitized Detailed carpet vacuuming, along corners, edges and under/behind all furniture And other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred Janitorial background experience is preferred Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate cleaning issues or safety hazards and concerns clearly. Willingness to contribute to a positive and cooperative work environment. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
