Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Food and Nutrition Coordinator to manage the preparation, coordination, and distribution of meals for Club members. This role is essential in maintaining food service quality, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and supporting daily operations of our kitchen and café.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook meals following food safety guidelines. Clean and sanitize kitchen and café areas, including floors, counters, appliances, tables, chairs, and sinks. Maintain and restock inventory of kitchen and cleaning supplies. Coordinate with program staff to ensure every child is served meals. Maintain accurate daily meal counts and report monthly to the Director of Operations. Deliver meals to off-site locations and maintain off-site food inventories. Manage food rotation and monitor expiration dates. Ensure all equipment is turned off and kitchen is secured at the end of each shift. Order supplies, maintain purchase orders and receipts, and report kitchen repairs. Support special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; college coursework preferred. Minimum 2 years of experience in food service or restaurant management. Valid state driver’s license required. Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and perform physical tasks (e.g., standing, bending, lifting). Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email. Knowledge of food safety regulations and kitchen equipment operation. Ability to maintain confidentiality and interact positively with youth and staff.
