Hours may include 7am-3:30pm, 11:30am-8pm or 4pm-8pm Job SummaryReporting to the Operations Manager or designee, theMeal Service Representative provides customers (patients andcafeteria) with high quality service.
Job Functions:
Accuratelyassembles patient trays to provide maximum patient safety. Delivers patient trays in a friendly and courteous manner. Followspatient identification protocol to ensure patient safety. Adheres to protocol related to patient privacy and respectincluding knocking on doors before entering patient rooms. Performs general kitchen sanitation duties. Assists with the cafeteria meal service to provide exceptional foodand service to all customers. Washes dishes and performs other duties in the dishroom includingputting items away. Works safely, adhering to safety rules within the department andother areas of the hospital. Respects hygiene and universal precautions requirements. Promotes Service Excellence. Performs minimal food preparation, as needed. Inventories and stocks supplies. Performs retail operations cashiering. Maintains and supports patient’s rights to care, privacy andrespect. Other duties as assigned from time to time.
Minimum QualificationsEducation High school diploma or equivalent preferred. ExperiencePrevious experience strongly preferred. Licensure and/orCertification None required. Skills Demonstrated safe and sanitaryworking practices. o Ability to maintain confidential information.
Excellent customer service skills. Ability to interact withpatients, employees, family members, staff, and other customers ina positive, hospitable manner. Ability to read, understand andfollow written instructions and meal tickets. Computer skills tocheck Hospital e-mail and perform other training and mandatoryrequirements. Ability to maintain confidential information.
Numerical ability with skills to use the cash register/collectmoney. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks. Abilityto read, write, and communicate in English.
