Cherry Valley Country Club 125 Country Club Drive, Skillman, NJ 08558 Job Summary As a Restaurant Supervisor, you will oversee the daily food and beverage operations within the club’s restaurant, ensuring exceptional service and adherence to established standards and safety guidelines. Your primary focus is to ensure all operations and member services meet and exceed expectations. You will also actively participate in service during both low and high-volume periods to support the team and uphold excellent service standards. Reporting Structure
- Reports directly to the Restaurant Director of Food & Beverage, and/or Assistant Director of Food & Beverage Key Responsibilities Uphold Invited’s service standards as outlined in the service training program.
Oversee the service of food and beverages to members and guests, ensuring adherence to the Invited’s standards of service and excellence. Directly and indirectly supervise service staff to ensure consistent service quality and exceptional member and guest experiences. Accurately execute member and guest orders and special requests. Assist in implementing training and incentive programs to maintain a well-trained staff focused on achieving service excellence, in alignment with the food & beverage service training program. Review reservation books and function sheets for your shift, ensuring room setups align with booking and event requirements. Initiate opening procedures for breakfast, lunch, or dinner shifts, and complete required closing procedures. Inspect the cleanliness and setup of rooms, ensuring they are prepared for the next service or event and are ready for members. Document tasks and notes in the shift log to ensure effective communication for the following shift. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the al carte menu, including daily features and specials. Demonstrate a clear understanding of all liquors, beers, and wines available at the club. Actively participate in daily line-ups, weekly service trainings meetings, and special training sessions as requested. Ensure completion of daily assignments and side work to club standards, including maintaining clean, sanitary work areas and restocking supplies as needed.
- Interact professionally with members and guests, accommodating changes and last-minute requests to enhance their experience.
Foster a positive team environment by supporting colleagues and proactively assisting members, guests, and team members, consistently delivering the 3-steps of service. Address and resolve member and guest complaints promptly and professionally, escalating issues to management when necessary, and practicing effective service recovery.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management. Additional Duties
- Due to the dynamic nature of the club’s operations, be prepared to perform various functions and assist other team members as needed.
- Follow all company, club, and department standards, including policies, procedures, and operational guidelines.
- Demonstrate strong teamwork and collaboration with all employees, members, and guests.
Manage multiple tasks effectively while working under pressure. Attend all service training meetings as required. Uphold safe working habits and promote a culture of safety among all staff. Attend daily line-up meetings and participate actively as requested. Where applicable, supervise and ensure the completion of side work duties assigned to food & beverage staff, as well as maintain general cleanliness and organization across all food & beverage outlets. Qualifications Required
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
A minimum of 2 years of experience in the restaurant or club-related field within the food & beverage industry.
Preferred Preferred certifications:
ServeSafe Food Handlers’ Certificate, TABC Certification, and CPR Certification. Completion of all food & beverage online training modules: Service Training, Host Training, Bartender Training, Server Assistant Training, Banquet Server Training, Beverage Cart Attendant Training, Kitchen, Employee Training, F&B Refresh Training, Culinary Safety, Food Safety, and Alcohol Safety. Physical Requirements
- Must be able to stand, walk, and perform physical activities for extended periods.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures and environments, with potential exposure to dust, fumes, or gases.
- Cable of climbing ladders, squatting, kneeling, reaching, grasping, twisting, bending, and folding/unfolding as required.
- Able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 100 lbs. occasionally.
- Effective communication skills, including talking and hearing, with sufficient visual acuity. Primary Tools/Equipment
