Position Summary TheBeverage Manager oversees and manages the local property’s beverage programsand staff, interacts with guests to ensure hospitable service, and focuses onpromoting and maximizing wine sales. This position is designed to strengthenCity Winery’s positioning as a food-, beverage- and service-centric destinationwith a focus on hospitality and education, and to highlight our offeringsthrough promotion and sales of City Winery wines, alongside beverages fromproducers around the world.

- Oversee day-to-day activities of beverage department
- Responsible for direct management and oversight of all wine andbeverage staff, alongside General Manager
- Ensure high level of guest service is consistently provided andlisten/respond to guest and employee concerns and questions
- Ensure that all beverage products served meet the establishedspecifications and standards
- Train and enforce practical application of all Health Coderequirements and all health and regulatory compliance is followed
- Responsible for the knowledge of all alcohol laws and ordinanceand the implementation of these requirements
- Ensure the proper level of service is provided based on forecastedneeds. Work with other management to always ensure proper management &staff coverage through effective, methodical scheduling and planning
- Complete required daily financial tools and reports, and ensurethat all revenues are captured and reported accurately
- Execute and audit beverage inventory and cost control systems andprocesses
- Analyze and evaluate beverage department profits and lossstatements and make recommendations as to alternative courses of action
- Participate in matters pertaining to the purchase of products.
Ensure all products necessary for beverage operations are ordered and deliveredin a timely fashion
- Plan, execute and supervise Public Beverage Events to include butnot limited to Wine & Beverage Dinners, Wine & Beverage Classes,Tastings and Seminars
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, safe and comfortable work environmentfor employees and guests; creating a positive work environment that fostersharmony and growth
- Ensure that all bars and beverage equipment is operated safely andwith reasonable care, reporting mechanical problems to the proper departmentfor repair. To generate and track work orders as needed
- Lead beverage department personnel in the proper performance oftheir duties; always leading by positive example
- Attend and satisfactorily complete all training as assigned by theBeverage Director and Service Director
- Perform all other duties as per business need Minimum Qualifications
- Must have a minimum of 5+ years of beverage management/ wine salesexperience or relevant experience
- Minimum 3 years’ supervisory experience and exceptional leadershipskills
- Strong knowledge of wine, beer and spirits, their origin, taste,ingredients and service
- Current knowledge of the local beverage market, its offerings,limits and beverage related laws
- High integrity, work ethic, and unparalleledpassion for hospitality, food, wine, and music
- Ability to successfully multi-task, delegate, andmanage several projects at once in high-pressure, fast paced environment
- Ability to respectfully mentor, train, develop,and hold teams accountable to expectations
- Understanding of costing and Inventory required
- Professional and effective communication skills
- Superior organization skills and attention to detail
- Flexible and able to work independently as well as collaborativelywith a team
- Must be familiar with forklift: press loading, barrel stacking
- Must have proficient computer and technologicalskills including Microsoft Word and Excel; winemaking database experiencepreferred
- Ability to perform physical requirements of position includingstanding for extended periods, kneeling, stooping, using stairs, able to lift,carry, push, pull weight of at least 50 lbs.
- Ability to work on a flexible schedule including weekends andholidays as needed
