Duties and Responsibilities The Concessions and Floating Supervisor works in one or more retail operations throughout the University and has excellent customer service skills (friendly and courteous), and completes the following responsibilities: Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all employees and departments on campus. Oversee the daily operations of one or more retail operation; which include ordering, receiving, cash handling opening and closing locations and supervision of 7 food service workers and 15 student workers. Supervise daily operations with 2900 transactions, including students, faculty, staff and guests with sales of $13,400 per day. Assist with hiring, training and supervision of Supervisor 1’s, full-time and part-time employees, student managers, student supervisors, and student employees. Prepare, post and making changes to the student schedule. Responsible for employee evaluations, employee and all other files (neat, organized), taking phone calls, collecting and preparing nightly deposits, handling and processing invoices and monthly bill statements, and tracking purchases for vendor rebates. Understands Dining & Conference Services computer software such as Cbord and Micros, and is fluent in Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point and in researching the internet. Perform cash transactions using Point of Sale Terminals. Prepare and serve food. Take inventories. Place food orders. Stock shelves, check and receive products from vendors. Call and meet with service personnel. Maintain safety, security and health standards according to the policies of Dining & Conference Services at Millersville, and is responsible for enforcing D&CS policies and procedures by working with and supervising D&CS employees.

Ability to:

lift and carry 50 lbs. unload carts and trucks of food products weighing up to 40 lbs. without assistance. push and pull typical food service industry carts containing food products or banquet furniture weighing over 50 lbs.

Safety:

Work safely by using Personal Protective Equipment, maintaining equipment, following safety procedures and policies, etc. Leave the work area clean and functional at the end of shift. Be aware of and report any potential safety hazards to supervisor or management immediately. Cooperate with safety investigations and audits. Attend safety training sessions and maintain licenses, certifications, etc. All other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Two years experience in supervisory or lead serving position.

Demonstrated ability to:

plan, coordinate, direct multiple functions in food preparation. supervise, train and evaluate. perform inventory control. do advanced math. maintain food safety and health standards. operate computer cash register. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. Excellent oral, written, interpersonal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook. Evidence of a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Valid driver’s license. Successful interview. Successful completion of three background checks. Preferred Qualifications Prior restaurant or school/university supervisory experience. Essential Functions Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs. Must be able to unload carts and trucks of food products weighing up to 40 lbs. without assistance. Ability to push and pull typical food service industry carts containing food products or banquet furniture weighing over 50 lbs. Basic knowledge, understanding, and ability to utilize weights and measures to assemble recipes, including the use of measuring devices. Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide). Ability to read ingredient lists, recipes, service & presentation directions, and labels. Understanding of written directions. Understanding of verbal directions. Familiarity with catering terminology, instructions, equipment, sanitation, and safety. Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and mouse.
