Full Job Description Overview:
Haven Café is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Café Operations Lead to oversee the operational and cultural aspects of our café. This individual will play a crucial role in creating and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring that our menu, recipes, and inventory systems are efficient and effective. The role will also focus on upholding our café’s core culture and values to ensure a positive experience for both our team and customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) : Develop and implement comprehensive SOPs to streamline café operations. Ensure all staff are trained and adhere to these procedures for consistency and efficiency. Regularly update SOPs to reflect best practices and new industry standards.
Menu & Recipe Management :
Work with the café owner and kitchen staff to develop, update, and maintain an innovative and consistent menu. Ensure that recipes are accurately followed and that ingredients are sourced efficiently. Collaborate with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure high-quality preparation standards.
Inventory and Par Lists :
Create and manage Par lists for inventory, ensuring that all ingredients, equipment, and supplies are adequately stocked. Implement inventory control systems to reduce waste and optimize spending. Regularly assess inventory levels and manage reordering processes.
Core Culture & Team Development :
Uphold the café’s core values and cultural standards in every aspect of operations. Help foster a positive and inclusive team environment by assisting in staff training and development. Lead by example, maintaining professionalism and a customer-first attitude.
General Operations Support :
Assist in daily café operations, ensuring all staff members have the tools and guidance needed for success. Coordinate with other departments (marketing, catering, etc.) to align operational needs and objectives.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in café or restaurant management (exp. in large chain organizations preferred). Strong organizational and leadership skills. Ability to develop and implement systems and processes effectively. Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude. Detail-oriented, with a strong focus on efficiency and quality control. Familiarity with inventory management software and tools. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards. Positive, proactive attitude and commitment to upholding café culture.
Compensation:
Hourly Rate :
$15-$18 per hour (depending on experience and qualifications).
