We are looking for a talented and hard-working individual to join our culinary team as the Kitchen Supervisor at the Runaway Train Brewery. This position requires great time management skills, communication skills and the motivation to strive for excellence. This supervisor is responsible for the operations, organization and the development of the Kitchen. The ideal candidate should have the ability to maintain a high level of quality while meeting their food and labor cost goals. This position requires baking with 2-3 years of experience, some management experience, and simple computer skills. The Kitchen Supervisor is responsible for hiring, supervising and training of all employees in their kitchen. They are responsible for the oversight of day-to-day operations within the Kitchen, as well as oversight of its employees. They work and act in accordance with Settlers Hospitality Operating Principles. Responsibilities Executes store operations and controls all aspects of opening and closing duties and procedures
Delivers and exceptional experience to all guests, each day, every day
Develops menus aligned to store concept and customer data
Develops recipes for all menu items
Costs menu items
Ensures labor costs and food costs are within budget
Follows health, safety and sanitation guidelines for all products
Builds relationships with Guests and Team members alike
Leads and executes all Kitchen operations
Acts with integrity, honesty and knowledge that align with Settlers Hospitality vision
Keeps a professional and calm demeanor and leads by example
Builds a solid team around them through positive motivation, meeting needs and concerns
Schedules employees for work to meet needs of business
Prepares food as business needs demand
Executes ordering and inventory
Ensures consistency of product through training and development and quality control
Acts with integrity, honesty and knowledge that align with Settlers Hospitality vision
Keeps a professional and calm demeanor and leads by example
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Two years of culinary training with
A.O.S/A.S
Culinary Degree preferred
Three years of kitchen supervisory experience preferred
Experience in supervising staff
Excellent customer service focus
Current Safe Food Handler certificate a plus
Knowledge of staffing, and scheduling
Strong leadership and motivational skills
Excellent communication, customer service, and problem solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress
Strong organization skills, able to multi-task, and can manage time to meet frequently changing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift up to 50 pounds
Able to work flexible hours that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights and/or holidays
Ability to direct the work of others
Strong interpersonal skills Able to work as part of a team
Basic computer skills Able to create and maintain schedules
