Dining Room Supervisor/Wait Staff (Two Days Wait Staff; 3 Days Dining Room Supervisor)

STATEMENT OF DUTIES
The Dining Room Supervisor/Wait Staff is responsible for assisting in the management of the daily operations of the restaurant dining room, including, but not limited to, the selection, development and performance management of employees. In addition, the Dining Room Supervisor/Wait Staff assists in the optimal dining room experience of the restaurant, either as a wait staff during times chosen, or as the Dining Room Supervisor, as directed. The Dining Room Supervisor/Wait Staff may also be responsible for optimizing profits and ensuring that guests are satisfied with the quality of food and their dining experience. The Dining Room Supervisor/Wait Staff assists in the FOH management of the restaurant in conjunction with the Restaurant General Manager.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Dining Room Supervisor Guest Service
- Ensure that all guests feel welcomed and are given responsive, friendly and courteous service at all times with the focus on hospitality.
- Manage seating charts and wait staff distribution of tables.
- Respond to complaints, taking any and all appropriate actions to turn dissatisfied guests into return guests. Team Building
- Promote a team spirit of positivity and a team centered approach to the hospitality and culinary experience at all times.
- Support a culture of fairness and inclusiveness by following TEE guidelines, job description and training programs and by maintaining healthy boundaries with team members.
- Provide direction to employees regarding operational and procedural issues.
- Interview hourly employees. Assist with the hiring, supervision, and development of employees.
- Conduct orientation, explain TEE’s Philosophy, and oversee the training of new employees.
- Develop employees by providing ongoing feedback, establishing performance goals.
- Interact in a positive manner with the Kitchen Staff to ensure prompt delivery of food and refires. Operational Responsibilities
- Fully understand and comply with all federal, state, county and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety and labor requirements of the restaurant, team members and guests.
- Assist in managing shifts which may include: daily decision making, daily scheduling needs, operational planning, while upholding standards, product quality and cleanliness.
- Prepare as needed all required paperwork, training materials, reports and schedules in an organized and timely manner.
- Assist with any special events and special parties as needed. Office Administration
- Print menus as needed for daily use in the restaurant. o Make sure daily specials menu is printed.
- Perform daily office duties as designated and assigned.
- Complete Invoicing as required. Financial
- Control daily cash and credit card reconciliation.
- Adhere to company standards and service levels to increase sales and minimize costs, including food, beverage, supply, utility and labor costs. Food Safety and Operational Planning
- Enforce sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of dining areas. Ensure compliance with operational standards, company policies, federal/state/local laws, and ordinances.
- Responsible for ensuring consistent high quality of food preparedness and service.
- Maintain professional restaurant image, including restaurant cleanliness, proper uniforms, and appearance standards.
- Follow up with the kitchen to ensure all food is served according to the restaurant’s recipes, portioning, cooking and plating standards.
- Adhere to ServSafe and TIPS standards. Other Duties
- Perform other duties as assigned. Wait Staff
- Greet customers and hand out menus.
- Take meal and beverage orders from customers and place orders to the kitchen using designated process/technology.
- Make menu recommendations to customers and inform patrons of any specials.
- Deliver meals and beverages to tables when they have been prepared.
- Check that customers are satisfied with their meal.
- Prepare the bill for tables when requested.
- Cash up bills and ensure that the correct amount has been paid.
- Adhere to health department guidelines for food safety handling.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation throughout the shift.
- Open and close the restaurant following the beginning and end of shift checklist. Assist teammates in completing shift responsibilities.
- Attend all scheduled team meetings and bring suggestions for improvement.
- Interact in a positive manner with the Kitchen Staff to ensure prompt delivery of food and refires.
- Assist with Hosting duties as needed or requested. Other Duties

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Degree or equivalent required.
- A minimum of two years restaurant experience (Wait Staff and/or Supervision of Dining Room) or food and beverage training to include front-of-the-house operations, guest service training and kitchen operations.
- Proficient with technology such as Microsoft Office 365 and Point of Sale Systems.
- Experience in restaurant management/supervision of staff.
- Required Certification in Serv Safe and TIPS Certification within one month of hire.
- Flexibility in schedule.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient in the English Language.

WORKING CONDITIONS
- Hours vary based on available shift.
- Availability on the weekends and holidays.
- Position requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, twisting, lifting products and supplies weighing 45 pounds, and repetitive hand and wrist motion. Able to go up and down stairs on a regular basis while carrying various items.
- Working in hot temperatures at times – inside and outside (patio).
POSITION STATUS
This is a full time position.
PAY SCALE
