Line Cook/Shift Leader Heavy’s Barburger Charleston 1137 Morrison Drive, Charleston, SC 29403 Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook/ Shift Lead to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a strong understanding of kitchen operations. As a Line Cook, you will play a crucial role in meal preparation, ensuring that each dish meets our high standards of quality and presentation. Your expertise in food safety and kitchen practices will contribute to creating an exceptional dining experience for our guests. Responsibilities Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards. Assist in meal preparation and food preparation for catering events. Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely service during peak hours. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety guidelines. Participate in menu planning and suggest new dishes or improvements. Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, reporting any shortages. Help train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety practices. Skills Strong knowledge of meal preparation techniques and food safety regulations. Experience in the food industry, particularly in a kitchen environment. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Familiarity with catering operations is a plus. Excellent teamwork skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues. A creative approach to menu planning and presentation of dishes. Previous experience as a cook or dietary aide is beneficial.
