Summary Provides work direction and training to the FS/QA non-exempt production associates. Assets the FS/QA Supervisor and Manager. Fills in for FS/QA Supervisor in their absence. Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Provides work direction and training to FS/QA non-exempt production associates.
Assist FS/QA Supervisor with staffing of the FS department.
Must maintain occurrence level at no greater than three (3) occurrences and cannot have more than two (2) disciplinary issues on file.
Ensures HACCP and SSOP checks are completed as required b y the facility’s regulatory programs.
Ensure the facility’s Pathogen Prevention Program is followed and samples are pulled as required.
Ensure verification/monitoring checks are completed on all food safety and regulatory procedures to ensure product compliance.
Assist in follow up and communication of issues and communication with local plant USDA.
Acts as a backup and is trained for both the QA General Laborer and HACCP Verifier positions.
Minimum Education High school or equivalent. Reading skills sufficient to learn written product standards, HACCP plans and complete grading/HACCP forms. Math skills to include addition, subtraction, multiplication. Experience Requirements 0 -2 years work experience. Good communication (both oral and written) and math skills. Experience Preferred Experience in food quality and/or safety. Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
Position requires standing and/or walking for long periods of time.
Lifts boxes/totes weighing u to 70 lbs from a pallet 6 inches off the floor to a height of approximately 3-5 feet.
May need to access files, supplies and equipment.
In a plant environment,
Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
May be exposed to temperatures of 287 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
May handle product below 0 degrees and above 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
May be exposed to noise ranges of 50db to 110 db.
May be exposed to all chemicals found in poultry, food and processing plant.
