At Treasure Seekers Shell Tours , we lead unforgettable shelling and eco tours through the breathtaking Ten Thousand Islands National Wildlife Refuge. Since 2017, we’ve been locally owned and operated, offering curated, conservation-minded experiences aboard our top-of-the-line Sea Pro 248 Bay Boats—each complete with onboard restrooms for guest comfort. Our guides are more than tour leaders—they’re educators, shelling enthusiasts, and stewards of one of Florida’s most incredible ecosystems. Whether you’re a seasoned Florida Master Naturalist or a passionate sheller eager to learn more, we’d love to hear from you. What You’ll Do Lead private and semi-private tours to remote barrier islands. Share fun facts and ecological insights about marine life, shells, and the local ecosystem. Help guests find and identify their “shell of a lifetime.” Engage with guests of all ages, creating memorable, educational, and fun experiences. Assist with boat prep and cleanup before and after each tour. Safely assist guests on and off the boat. Walk and explore 3-5 miles of coastline during tours. Who We’re Looking For You don’t have to be a scientist—but you do need to love shelling, the outdoors, and teaching others. While we strongly value Florida Master Naturalist certification, we’re also open to experienced shellers and eco-minded individuals excited to learn more.
Required:
Passion for shelling and knowledge of local shells (or willingness to learn fast!) CPR & First Aid certification Must be physically able to walk several miles on shell-covered beaches Enrollment in a drug-testing consortium
Preferred:
Florida Master Naturalist (especially Coastal Systems) or related eco-tourism background Local knowledge of the Ten Thousand Islands and surrounding waters Experience in public speaking, guiding, or hospitality A genuine interest in conservation and education Why Work With Us?
