Full Job Description Job Summary:

Visit Macon is seeking dedicated, enthusiastic and passionate individuals to join our Visitor Services Team. The Visitor Services Team members have opportunity to work in a variety of capacities, including Destination Specialist, Mobile Visitor Center team, Tour Guide, and Driver. Visitor Services Team Members welcome guests, provide information about Macon, address inquiries and provide an overall positive experience. Ideal candidates will have customer service background, knowledge of Macon, willingness to learn, and strong communication skills.

Duties may include the following:

Greet customers warmly and provide information about Macon, answering questions and giving suggestions in the downtown Visitor Center. Provide sales support in the Visitor Center gift shop. Provide Macon tours (script outline and training will be provided). Provide support as a driver for Macon tours using pre-determined routes. Attend festivals and special events to showcase Macon and provide information to entice people to visit Macon. Collaborate with team members to enhance the overall guest experience. Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Skills . Experience in customer service and/or retail roles is a plus. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for exceptional guest interaction. Knowledge of Macon. Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated. Valid driver’s license. The Visitor Services Team is a part-time role, with some weekend work. Events may require some evening work as well. Schedules are developed for a month in advance and hours will be based on scheduled tours, events, and regular Visitor Center hours. This part-time position can be done by those who are students or have other employment. Candidates may apply even if there are certain aspects of the role that are not things they are able to do. For instance, a candidate may have interest in being part of the Mobile Visitor Center team but not a tour guide. Those that have interest in some aspects of the position are still encouraged to apply.
