Position Title:
Lead Server Position Overview:
The primary purpose of this position is to create an enjoyable dining experience for our residents, staff and family members. The position also leads & directs servers throughout their shift while working with & through supervisors & managers. The lead server reports to Dining Services Supervisor and Dining Services Manager.
Shifts Available:
Thurs-Sat (11:30a-9:30p) Our servers are responsible for providing quality customer service to our residents and guests by being friendly, professional and timely in our efforts. Applicants will need to possess a drive for excellence, have great interpersonal and communication skills while maintaining a professional appearance. Friendly, energetic and highly-motivated are the traits that will help you excel in this fast paced environment. After a year of employment, you are eligible to apply for scholarships. We offer flexible work schedules and hours are not as late as most restaurants making this ideal for students and those who don’t have the availability to work late.
Essential Job Functions:
Ensures the dining experience is enjoyable through cheerful behavior and carefully following established procedures for merchandising, plate presentation and service Communicate with residents to take meal orders and provide service during meals Training of new wait staff members and to complete document training process Assist in the dining floor plan with direction from the supervisor or manager Knowledge of wait section and side work for the day Oversee quality of service in the dining venue Communicate effectively and professionally in all interactions with residents and guests Ensure wait staff is following correct services and guidelines Oversee and help with proper set up and reset Ensure all side work is completed after each meal Responsible for the proper food handling and preparation in accordance with Health Department regulations Responsible to clean and sanitize the equipment in service areas Report any faulty equipment in need of repair to manager Answer phone properly, respond to messages and record take out messages Prep desserts for meal service Assists in scheduling for servers. Follows all company policies and procedures Attend departmental education and all required in-service training/education Maintain confidentiality of resident/family and facility information Respond to all fire alarms and assist in the evacuation of residents when needed Cooperate with staff of other departments when needed Represent the organization through professional demeanor and attitude Provide quality customer service in all interactions with residents, guests and staff Perform other duties as required
You Have:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred Ability to understand and follow both written and verbal instruction Ability to work flexible hours including some weekends and holidays Must work full time hours Must be personable and maintain a positive pleasant demeanor at all times Provides quality customer service in all interactions with residents, guests and staff
