GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
Servers stock at assigned bar with cups, straws and napkins, including to set up coffee station (stock cups, creamers, sweeteners, and straws). Break person sets up coffee stations in Club V and the old VIP room. All servers are to report to greeting line approximately five (5) minutes before guest boarding. Upon arrival of guests, greet customers with a SMILE. Make sure to clap and welcome our guests. Servers must ring all drinks before the bartender can make them. Ensure all beverages are garnished properly, unless at customer request, and ensure all beverages are properly marked with the appropriate straw. Servers may only serve one drink at a time to each guest. Continually ‘sweep’ section for discarded drinks, trash and debris. As you are serving a guest, take the empties in the area away.
KEEP ASHTRAYS CLEAN AT ALL TIMES.
If a guest appears intoxicated, inform an F&B Supervisor or Manager immediately. No Staff, Bartender or other position, is authorized to “cut a customer off”. Let management address the guest and take action they deem necessary. Cocktail Servers are vital to the success of Victory Casino Cruises. Aim for friendliness, politeness and cleanliness to ensure satisfaction. Each guest should leave feeling like a winner regardless of their gambling success.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Servers set up trays with beverage napkins and straws. Stock the Servers side of assigned bar with cups, straws and napkins. Set up coffee station (stock cups, creamers, sweeteners, and straws). Break person sets up coffee stations in Club V and the old VIP room. One Server must report to Bar 1 prior to guest boarding. All Servers are to report to greeting line approximately five (5) minutes before guest boarding. Upon arrival of guests, greet guests with a SMILE. Make sure to clap and welcome our guests. Report to assigned station upon Captain making the five (5) minute announcement for gaming to begin. During gaming, guests are entitled to complimentary beverages while they are gambling. Guests MUST actually be gambling to receive complimentary beverages. Ensure proper POS procedures are used for ringing drinks and use proper category for comping items, i.e., table, slot and/or premium-promo comps. Any comped premium beverages or bottled beers MUST be approved by Casino Managers. Keep all tickets to turn in at end of shift. Servers must ring all drinks before the Bartender can make them. Ensure all beverages are garnished properly, unless at customer request, and ensure all beverages are properly marked with the appropriate straw. Each drink is served with a beverage napkin. Servers may only serve one drink at a time to each guest. “Shots” are NOT permitted. Continually ‘sweep’ section for discarded drinks, trash and debris. As you are serving a guest, take the empties in the area away.

Servers are responsible for their own area; HOWEVER, guest satisfaction is our first priority. All Servers must work as a team, and if a guest from another section requests a drink, please taker order and location and pass information onto the proper server promptly. If necessary, serve beverage to guest and provide tip received to server assigned to the section.
DO NOT TURN AWAY A GUEST ORDER BECAUSE IT IS NOT YOUR ASSIGNED SECTION.

Let management address the guest and take action they deem necessary. Immediately notify Security, an F&B Manager or Supervisor of any emergency. Follow all health department safe food handling procedures. Upon conclusion of gaming, run financial report and provide to Manager or Supervisor, along with any cash received and tickets. All servers are to remove trash and debris from section. Clean areas with sanitation cloth, if needed and pick up all ashtrays, including in the casino pits and in between slot machines. Empty and clean all ashtrays. Clean all straws, fruit and any other debris from the “dump” sink. Clean and sanitize sink. Servers must clean their serving tray at the end of the shift. Wipe down coffee machine, walls on server side of bar (to ensure no spills and splashes), counters and any other surface needed. Management may assign a server to perform a final sweep to ensure all side work has been completed properly. Servers tip out 20% of their gratuities to their bartender at the end of their shift. All Servers must meet on the Main Deck for F&B Manager or Supervisor before clocking out. Performs other related duties as requested by the Supervisors or Food & Beverage Manager. The use of personal items including, but not limited to, books, any form of electronic device and/or cell phone is prohibited. These items are permitted to be used in the employee area during the employees allotted break time. Some exceptions may apply. See Manager or Supervisor for approval.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Must have minimum of six (6) months cocktailing experience to apply Must be 18 years of age or older Must have a high school diploma or equivalent Knowledge of basic bar terminology Must have good personal hygiene Must respect all fellow employees and guests Guest awareness- the ability to handle intoxicated guests Knowledge of laws for required identification for serving guest Ability to lift, balance and carry cocktail trays Ability to organize and prioritize under pressure, maintaining a calm demeanor Basic skill of arithmetic and monetary mathematics Ability to communicate to Managers/Supervisors, guests, Bartenders, Bar Backs and other Cocktail Servers. Personality – outgoing and confident demeanor, friendly and welcoming smile. Must have good listening skills Multitasking with several guests at a time Must be able to stand for several hours at a time Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs.
