Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and charismatic Maitre’d to join our front-of-house team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in fine dining service, excellent communication skills, and a passion for providing guests with personalized attention. As the Maitre’d, you will be the face of Ro & Jekyll, setting the tone for our establishment and ensuring that our high standards of service are met and exceeded.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Relations:
Greet and welcome guests warmly, ensuring they feel valued and comfortable from the moment they arrive. Handle reservations and manage guest seating arrangements with a focus on optimizing the dining experience.
Service Excellence:
Oversee dining room operations, ensuring smooth service flow and appearance of the dining area. Collaborate with servers and kitchen staff to coordinate timely and quality service.
Team Leadership:
Train, mentor, and develop front-of-house staff in service techniques, menu knowledge, and guest relations. Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
Menu Knowledge:
Maintain an in-depth understanding of the menu offerings, including food and beverage pairings, specials, and dietary restrictions. Be prepared to make recommendations to guests.
Conflict Resolution:
Address any guest concerns or complaints promptly and professionally, striving to resolve issues and turn challenges into positive experiences.
Operational Oversight:
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, as well as company policies. Monitor cleanliness, organization, and presentation of the dining area.
Continuous Improvement:
Participate in reviewing and analyzing service standards, guest feedback, and operational processes to enhance guest satisfaction and improve overall efficiency.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a Maitre’d or in a senior front-of-house position in a fine dining restaurant is preferred. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a warm and approachable demeanor. Strong leadership abilities, with experience in training and developing staff. Knowledge of food and beverage, including wine pairings, and an understanding of dietary restrictions. Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure, handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
