Role Summary:
The position of the Beach Server is dedicated to exceeding expectations of both internal and external guests to ensure the highest level of service is consistently provided. Teamwork is the key to success in providing a warm and personal experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
All duties and responsibilities are to be performed in accordance with the National Hotel quality of service standards, and policies and procedures. Associates will be required to learn other functions in an effort to attain cross training skill sets that will help grow the overall knowledge of the Guest experience expectations. As someone who has a passion for people, and enjoys a fast-paced environment, a core duty for all Associates is effectively multi-tasking, a quintessential factor to the success of their role. Greet all guests with enthusiasm and friendliness. Serves alcoholic beverages in an appropriate manner consistent with company standards. Answers guest questions about food, beverages, and our facilities accurately and in a friendly manner. Does side work during non-busy hours. Speaks to guests with enthusiasm at all times. Develops relationships with guests. Provides the highest level of service in accordance with our standards. Identifies food orders when ready and delivers items to tables in a timely manner. Maintains a professional appearance at all times. Communicates with food and beverage staff to ensure guest satisfaction. Reports to work as scheduled, in uniform, and ready to be in position. Maintains professional relationships with all coworkers. Follow checklists and standard operating procedures. Maintains a safe, clean, organized, and stocked work area. Performs duties as assigned. Maintains full knowledge of menus, recipes, and other pertinent information. Constantly increases knowledge of foods, beverages, and other products and services. Ensures that guests have a positive and memorable experience. Responsible for constant sanitation, organization, and proper food handling. Prepares work area for either opening, mid-shift, or closing in accordance with company standards. Punches clock in full uniform, ready to work, and no earlier than five minutes prior to shift. Attends the Pre-Shift Meetings to learn the specials and daily business objectives. Become familiar with all menu items, wine, and spirits. Ensures the proper set up of the station and work areas assigned and the smooth serving of food and beverage to all of his/her guests in the Beach area. Take and deliver food and beverage orders to the guest at the Beach and ensure correct and prompt delivery of orders. Enter order into Micros system to request food preparation. Remains attentive to food orders placed and delivery and pace of service. Observe guests for immediate responsiveness/attention toward additional service needs. Prepare check and deliver to guests when finished. Clear, clean, reset, and maintain Beach station during shift. Follow all proper cash, credit card, and room charge procedures. Follow all proper check control procedures. At the end of the night, the Server prepares the set up for the next meal period/next day. The Server offers support to other colleagues. You may be required and scheduled to work banquet or special events, which may be outside of your normal responsibilities and working hours and department. Perform other related duties as assigned by Management.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Hiring Requirements:
Knowledge of the basic functions of food operations. Knowledge of all liquor laws and regulations concerning the service of alcoholic beverages. Working knowledge of acceptable standards of sanitation and proper chemical usage. Must have a professional attitude, you will be dealing with high-end customers. Must be able to handle multiple banquet functions that could be occurring at the same time. Ability to perform basic math skills. Ability to handle money and make correct changes. Ability to communicate effectively and establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff. Knowledge, understanding, and compliance of policies and procedures, job descriptions, daily memorandums, chemical labels, and other instructions. Comprehension of Micros system.

Safety Requirements:
All Associates are required to abide by all Safety rules and ensure they perform each task by practicing safe work habits. Any associate who incurs any type of injury is required to report immediately to their immediate supervisor or the Security Officer on duty.
Language Requirements:
Ability to speak English clearly, distinctly and cordially with guests. Ability to read and write English in order to understand and interpret written procedures. This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms. Proficiency in effectively presenting information and responding to questions from guests, supervisors and co-workers. Ability to speak additional languages such as Spanish, French or German is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to sit for long periods of time, stand, walk; full dexterity in use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
