Position Summary:
The Experienced Bilingual Server, preferred to plays a vital role in ensuring an exceptional guest dining experience by delivering outstanding service with professionalism, hospitality, and efficiency. Servers are expected to uphold the high standards of the Don Julio Group by providing friendly and timely service while communicating fluently with both English and Spanish-speaking guests.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide Outstanding Guest Service:
Greet guests promptly and warmly, presenting menus, making recommendations, and answering questions about menu items, beverages, and specials.
Bilingual Communication:
Engage and assist guests in both English and Spanish, ensuring a comfortable dining experience for all customers.
Order Management:
Take accurate food and beverage orders and input them correctly into the POS system.
Product Knowledge:
Maintain thorough knowledge of menu offerings, ingredients, preparation methods, and allergen information to properly guide guests.
Food and Beverage Service:
Deliver food and beverages promptly and accurately, checking for proper presentation and quality.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with other servers, food runners, bussers, and kitchen staff to ensure timely and smooth service.
Upselling and Promotion:
Suggestively sell additional items such as appetizers, desserts, and specialty drinks to enhance the dining experience.
Table Maintenance:
Monitor tables to ensure guests’ needs are met, including refilling beverages, clearing finished plates, and offering additional items.
Handling Payments:
Present check, process payments accurately, and thank guests for their visit, inviting them to return.
Cleanliness and Presentation:
Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including dining room and service stations.
Compliance:
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and alcohol service guidelines in accordance with local laws and Don Julio Group standards.
Customer Issue Resolution:
Address guest concerns quickly and professionally, escalating issues to management when necessary.
Company Representation:
Represent the Don Julio Group values, image, and culture professionally at all times.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum 2 years: of full-service restaurant serving experience required (preferably in a fast-paced, high-volume environment).
Language:
Fluency in both English and Spanish is required: (speaking, reading, and understanding).
Skills:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to multitask efficiently and work under pressure Knowledge of POS systems (training provided if needed) Basic math skills for handling cash and credit card transactions
Appearance:
Must maintain a neat, clean, and professional appearance in accordance with Don Julio Group standards.
Certification:
Food Handler Certification (or must obtain within 30 days of hire) Responsible Alcohol Service Certification (preferred)
Availability:
Flexible schedule required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Demands:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours). Ability to lift and carry trays, food, and beverages (up to 25 pounds). Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive motions.
