Alleghany County, NC High Meadows Country Club has a Server Assistant available.

PURPOSE OF POSITION

To assist in preparing the restaurant for service, and maintaining the cleanliness of the tables, room, and equipment. Greet tables in a warm, friendly, and professional manner, offering bread and water service. The Server Assistant will solicit the beverage order if necessary for speed of service. Reset tables to the number of expected guests.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Fill water glasses at the table before the member’s arrival. Offer bread service once the party has been seated. Anticipate and understand guest service needs during table service such as refilling water glasses, clearing plates, etc. Use a cocktail tray, and clear and clean tables, chairs, and floor if needed. Ensure guest satisfaction and assist with complaint resolution. Ability to be well organized, maintain concentration, good timing, and clear thinking in a fast-paced environment. Make all varieties of coffee and tea following departmental standards. Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of service areas. Maintain complete knowledge of menu items, prices and preparation including daily specials and 86’d items. Knowledge of liquor, wine, beer, and complete bottle service. Suggestively sell food and beverage items if prompted. Maintain knowledge of dining room layout, proper table set-up, hours of operation, menu, and dress code. Maintain knowledge of P.O.S. systems and manual systems. Ability to perform job functions with minimal supervision. Complete opening and closing duties. Complete any other duties assigned by the Dining Room Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum 18 years of age; high school graduate. Written and verbal fluency in English Ability to perform basic arithmetic. Prior experience in hospitality or customer service is strongly preferred. Prior experience in restaurant service, including order taking, P.O.S. computer system, culinary training, training in liquor, wine and food service strongly preferred. Certification in alcohol awareness programs and ServSafe.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Position requires walking and standing most of the working day; sometimes in elevated temperatures. Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours in length. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill tasks. Requires manual dexterity, grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, and climbing. Must be able to lift/carry up to 40 lbs. Must be able to work in varying weather conditions and temperatures. We maintain a drug-free workplace and perform pre-employment substance abuse testing. High Meadows participates in e-Verify.

Tips:

The Server Assistant Position participates in the tip pool for the wait staff, which can average between $15-$25 per hour combined pay rate.
