Server 4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars 9401 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh, NC 27617 •Part Time Position•Our primary goal is to recognize and appreciate the fact that each individual guest is the most important person in the world while dining at the Angus Barn. An Angus Barn server is responsible for providing our guests with a memorable dining experience exceeding expectations. It is essential that each server has a pleasant personality and smile; even temperament and enjoys working with the public; have good grooming and hygiene habits; and is efficient when performing their duties. A server will complete an approximately 25 day training program encompassing almost every department. A server normally serves a station of 2 – 4 tables per night, depending on their ability, which is determined by his or her managers. A server refills and restocks any items necessary to do their job efficiently throughout the night. A server follows the Angus Barn ’40 steps of service’ for each guest they serve. A server uses suggestive selling techniques. Each server will be trained on acceptable techniques. A server serves alcoholic beverages and must enforce the guidelines of the Angus Barn to prevent any liability. Each server will be trained regarding responsible alcohol service. A server attends training classes outside normal scheduled hours. Class times will be posted. A server will perform duties other than waiting tables, on a rotating basis, when there is a shortage in another department. An Angus Barn server must be willing to follow directions and be able to handle constructive criticism. A server must be able to work well with others no matter their position within the Angus Barn; have good communication skills; have a positive attitude about work. A server must be able to work weekends, ‘All Hands on Deck Days’ and be flexible in scheduling. The server normal hours are from 4:00 p.m. (Saturday 3:00 p.m.) until their last guest leaves and their side work is complete.
