Position Summary:
We are looking for a polished and professional Food Runner to serve as a vital connection between the kitchen and dining room. In this guest-facing role, you’ll ensure that dishes are delivered accurately, presented beautifully, and garnished or finished as needed both in the kitchen and tableside. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, well-spoken, and passionate about delivering impeccable service in a collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver food from the kitchen to guests in a timely, professional, and gracious manner Understand and able to describe each dish, including ingredients, preparation methods, and potential allergens Execute light tableside finishing and garnishing as directed by the chef (e.g., pouring sauces, adding final touches) Coordinate with servers to ensure proper course pacing and table readiness Communicate clearly with kitchen and FOH staff regarding dietary notes, timing, and guest needs Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the expo line and pass Ensure all plates are delivered to the correct guests with composure and accuracy Maintain professional posture, language, and appearance throughout service
Requirements:
Prior experience in restaurants, upscale or fine dining preferred Strong knowledge (or willing to learn) of food, ingredients, and dining etiquette Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to lift trays, carry multiple plates, and remain on your feet for long periods Must be detail-oriented, poised, and able to handle pressure gracefully Open and available Sunday through Thursday (Fridays and Saturdays off)
