Food Runner Shinjuku Station Revolving Sushi Bar – South Plainfield, NJ 4989 Stelton Rd, South Plainfield, NJ 07080 Job Overview We are seeking a friendly, outgoing, and professional host/hostess/food runner to join our team! As the first point of contact for our guests, you will play a crucial role in providing an excellent dining experience by greeting and seating guests, managing reservations and waitlists, handling takeout and delivery orders, maintaining a welcoming atmosphere, and/or delivering food in a timely manner. Responsibilities Greet guests warmly as they arrive and escort them to their tables. Manage reservations using our POS. Maintain an organized and accurate waitlist during busy hours. Answer the phone and address any questions from customers Taking and cashing out to-go orders and distributing takeout and delivery orders correctly Communicate with the kitchen and wait staff to ensure efficient seating and service flow. Provide guests with menus and answer initial questions regarding the restaurant’s offerings. Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of the entrance, waiting areas, and dining room. Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and special requests professionally. Uphold company policies and health/safety standards at all times. Deliver food to tables in a professional and timely manner. Skills Strong time management skills to efficiently handle multiple tasks and prioritize tasks effectively. Excellent guest services skills, with a focus on creating positive guest relations. Basic math skills for handling transactions and providing accurate change. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Experience with POS systems is advantageous but not required; training will be provided. A genuine passion for hospitality, helping others, and creating memorable dining experiences for guests. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
