Our back event lawn is a spacious well-manicured lawn that boosts beautiful greenery, gardens and privacy from two historic barns for the community and private use with beautiful surroundings and private location. Job Summary Rowans Bar and Grill is looking to add a Head Server to our Dining room. This role will assist our Food and Beverage team in providing the exceptional guest experience. The Head Server plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests. This position involves overseeing the service team, ensuring that all food and beverage orders are accurately processed, and maintaining a high standard of hospitality. The Head Server will collaborate closely with kitchen staff and management to optimize service efficiency and guest satisfaction in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Report to duty in clean uniform and name tag at scheduled time. Oversee and direct the Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner service team to meet and exceed all guest needs and expectations. Ensure prompt and efficient service of all meals and beverages. Welcome guests upon arrival and departure from their table. Maintain an adequate supply of clean dishes and glassware on designated area. Ensure food order is taken correctly from each guest by confirming and checking as it goes out. Set up stations and tables with linen, tableware, and condiments both prior and after the shift. Serve food and beverages to customers in the restaurant in a friendly and appropriate manner. Review daily specials and attend pre-meal meetings with the manager and chef. Answer guest’s questions as to food preparation and choice of beverage and desserts. Remove used tableware and linen from tables. Clean spilled food and beverage from the Restaurant floor and take dirty dishes to dishwashing area. Maintain the service area in a neat and clean manner. Assist the guests in obtaining other goods and services that may be needed. Constantly monitor staff appearance, attitude, and degree of professionalism to ensure their strict adherence to Mirbeau standards of quality service. Adjust staffing levels as business volume warrants. Maintain and review the reservations in the Dining Room. Attend staff meetings, events and other functions required by management. Promote good public relations and handle complaints and concerns of guests. Recognize and address potential intoxicated, disruptive, or desirable guests. Properly handle and report all guest accidents and respond properly to any emergency or safety situation. Oversight of the Dining room Operations and front of house to ensure polite, genuine, gracious, and timely service during service. Assist in the implementation of structured training programs and frequent meetings with all FOH staff. Utilize the computer system to include ringing in sales, printing checks, gift cards, Credit card, closing checks, completing closing reports, and pull sales reports. TOAST expertise in billing, properly closing of checks, entering of new menu items and daily functions. Organize and keep clean service areas. Training and testing of service protocols. Responsible for assisting in creating the weekly schedule for Dining Room and Bar staff. Qualifications, Skills & Educational Requirements This position requires an Associate’s degree in the restaurant/food service industry or at least 3 years prior experience as a Supervisor or Manager or at least 5 years prior experience as a bartender or server of a high volume dining establishment, and the ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
