Position Overview:
As a Server Assistant, you will play an essential supporting role in delivering exceptional service to our guests. Working closely with servers, you will ensure the dining area is prepared, clean, and organized, and assist in maintaining the flow of service throughout the restaurant. This position is ideal for individuals looking to gain experience in a fine dining environment and is a key part of creating a smooth, seamless dining experience for our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Assistance:
Welcome and assist guests as they are seated, offering water and bread service as needed. Support servers by clearing used dishes, resetting tables between courses, and ensuring guests’ needs are met promptly. Maintain a polished and professional demeanor, providing assistance with any guest requests as directed by the server.
Dining Room Preparation:
Ensure tables are properly set with appropriate utensils, glassware, napkins, and any additional items required for service. Assist in organizing the dining area before, during, and after service, ensuring all tables, chairs, and surfaces are clean and orderly. Replenish supplies, including utensils, linens, and glassware, throughout the shift.
Service Support:
Work closely with servers to provide smooth and efficient service, anticipating guest needs and supporting the team in delivering an exceptional dining experience. Assist in running food to tables, ensuring correct and timely delivery while maintaining the high service standards of the restaurant. Keep an eye on guests’ tables, refilling water glasses, clearing plates, and resetting tables for the next course.
Cleanliness and Maintenance:
Ensure that all areas, including floors and side stations, are kept clean and organized throughout the shift. Maintain the cleanliness and organization of service stations, silverware, and glassware throughout the shift. Participate in end-of-shift duties, such as cleaning the dining area, side stations, and assisting with any other closing tasks.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment is preferred but not required. A strong willingness to learn and contribute to a high-end dining experience is essential.
Skills:
Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand for up to 10 hours, carry heavy items up to 50 lbs, traverse stairs comfortably throughout the shift, and navigate the dining area safely and swiftly.
Professionalism:
A polished appearance, friendly attitude, and a strong work ethic are essential. Must be able to follow instructions and maintain the restaurant’s high service standards.
Flexibility:
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by the restaurant’s hours of operation.
