ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all policies/service procedures/standards.
Arrive to work on time, as scheduled, with all necessary equipment, supplies and properly attired (or Uniformed) to begin work according to company standards
Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.
Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
Work on floor taking food and beverage orders
Work on the gueridon
Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
Recite specials clearly at table
Present and explain gratis offerings
Display Langoustine at table
Take and prepare dessert orders
Complete all assigned side work and check all tables for proper set up
Polish glassware
Work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team
Perform job functions with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy
Be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgments
Prepare checks and all closing paperwork in an organized manner
Adhere to payment, cash handling and credit policies/procedures.
Work Catering parties
Attend daily Pre-Shift meeting
Assist Maitre D answering phones
Assist Maitre D seating guests
Maintain complete knowledge of:
a) table/seat/station numbers, room capacity, hours of operation, proper table set-up and dress code of the Restaurant.
b) all liquor brands, beers and non-alcoholic selections, correct glassware and garnishes in the restaurant.
c) the particular characteristics and description of every wine/champagne by the glass and major wines on the wine list.
d) all menu items, prices, preparation method/time, major ingredients and quality standards, taste, appearance, texture, serving temperature, garnish and method of presentation.
e) P.O.S. and manual systems.
f) Maintain complete knowledge of and strictly abide by state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated persons and drunk driving.

Requirements:

Ability to read, speak and understand the English language in order to communicate with guests and take orders.
Professional appearance and attitude.
Knowledge of restaurant area and local fine dining establishments.
Minimum of 2years’ experience in the fine dining restaurant.
Must have a following to generate increased bar revenue.
Satisfactorily communicate with management and co-workers.
Possess basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, total all other charges, and understand portion sizes.
Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items.
Ability to operate a keyboard and point of sale procedures to pre-check an order and close out a check.
Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods of time and throughout work shift.
Sufficient manual dexterity in hands in order to use a knife to make garnish, pick up glassware and bottles, scoop ice, mix drinks, and reach overhead to retrieve stock.
Must be able to bend and stoop to the floor.
Must be able to push, pull and reach for items.
Meets federal and state requirements to legally serve alcoholic beverages.

QUALIFICATIONS
Essential:

English speaking
Provide legible communication and directions.
Professional appearance and attitude
Knowledge of food service
2 years experience as a high end Restaurant Server.
Satisfactorily communicate with guests, management and co-workers to their understanding.
Minimum 18 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages.
Ability to:
understand and focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous.
be well organized, maintain concentration and think clearly when providing service to all guests
focus attention on details.

PHYSICAL ABILITIES
Essential:

Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs
Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas.
Must be able to stay on feet for up to 8 hours throughout work shift.
