The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing exceptional customer service and a dedication to proper sanitation and food safety practices. As a Server, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our guests have a memorable dining experience through attentive service and knowledgeable recommendations. Due to language barriers, applicants must be , at minimum, conversational in mandarin. We only offer full day shifts (opening to close) . Servers are expected to fulfill a number of duties including: Opening duties such as setting up tables and wiping down counter areas. Greet and seat guests promptly, providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Present menus, take orders, and accurately input them into the POS system. Serve food and beverages in a timely manner while ensuring proper presentation. Upsell menu items to enhance the dining experience and increase sales. Monitor guest satisfaction throughout their meal, addressing any concerns or requests promptly. Bus tables efficiently to maintain cleanliness and readiness for new guests. Adhere to all food safety regulations and sanitation guidelines to ensure the health and safety of our patrons. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service flow during busy periods. Maintain knowledge of menu items, including ingredients, preparation methods, and potential allergens. Occasional packing of online / takeout orders. Closing duties such as sweeping and mopping the floors and cleaning of the bathroom. Requirements Previous experience in an Omakase style or sushi restaurant. Prior knowledge of or willingness to learn about types of seafood and specialty cuts of various species of fish. Strong customer service skills with an emphasis on hospitality and guest relations. Familiarity with food safety standards and sanitation practices. Ability to operate the POS system or similar point-of-sale technology. Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail. Ability to handle constructive feedback. Training Depending on the applicant, a training period may be necessary before the official start of employment. During the training period, you are expected to complete all of your duties under the guidance of another employee. During the training period, you will be paid in full hourly wages but will not be entitled to any gratuities collected during the training period. The training period will be full day shifts and will not exceed two days. We are a family owned and operated establishment with a majority of the staff being friends or family.
