hiring AM/PM Flexible Shift Bar & Brew Specialists for our new full-service concept in the Nashville International Airport, Martini. Summary/Objective Provide exceptional hospitality to guests in a full-service restaurant environment where the guest and their needs are the priority. Essential Functions Interacts with guests as they arrive and as they leave the restaurant to ensure a positive dining experience. Greets and seats guests, presents menus to guests, informs them of specials/soups and answer questions about menu items, making recommendations upon request. Explain how various items on the menu are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods. Take food and beverage orders from guests and communicate them to kitchen staff. Check patrons’ identification to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages. Mix, garnish and serve alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks for patrons of bar and dining room following standard recipes. Obtain or prepare fast-serving food, beverages (including crafted coffees/teas) or merchandise requested by the customer. Garnish and decorate dishes in preparation for serving. Serve food and beverages to guests and prepare or serve specialty dishes at tables as required. 10. Communicate with customers to resolve complaints or ensure satisfaction Check with customers to ensure that they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems. Prepare checks that itemize and total meal costs and sales taxes. Collect and process payments from customers accurately. Remove dishes and glasses from tables or counters, take them to kitchen for cleaning. Clean tables or counters after patrons have finished dining. Prepare tables for meals, including setting up items such as linens, silverware, and glassware. Runs the floor plan board. Takes guest information and quotes wait times to guests accurately when tables are not immediately available. Observes tables and keeps track of clean, dirty and occupied tables Have complete knowledge of Air Ventures’ food and beverage preparation to answer phone calls and in person questions concerning the menu and restaurant. Fills to-go orders, if applicable. Adhere to Air Ventures’ steps of service requirements. Work as a team with all Air Ventures’ personnel to maintain an effective atmosphere and an efficient food and beverage service. Perform food preparation duties such as preparing salads, appetizers, and cold dishes, portioning desserts, and brewing coffee. Arrange bottles and glasses to maintain an attractive display in agreement with Air Ventures’ standards. Wash and sterilize stemware. Cleans, organizes and stocks menus at host area. Clean food service and preparation areas and equipment. Roll silverware, set up food stations or set up dining areas to prepare for the next shift or for large parties. Arrange tables or dining areas. Stock service areas with supplies such as coffee, food, tableware, linens and supplies. Stock shelves, counters or tables with merchandise. Set up advertising displays or arranging merchandise on counters or tables to promote sales. Stamp, mark or tag prices on merchandise. Perform cleaning duties, such as sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming carpet, tidying up server station, taking out trash, or checking and cleaning bathroom. Fill salt, pepper, sugar, cream, condiment, and napkin containers. Provide guests with information about local areas, including giving directions. Provide guests with general information or assistance. Performs other related duties as assigned. Competencies Customer/Client Focus. Ethical Conduct. Initiative. Thoroughness. Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Work Environment This is a tip-sharing environment, where everyone contributes equally to the success of each shift and shares in the rewards. This position operates in a restaurant setting where the noise level in the work environment can be loud. The employee may be exposed to hazards including, but are not limited to, cuts, slipping, tripping, falls and burns. Frequent hand washing is required. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping and crouching. The position may require occasional lifting of products weighing up to 45 pounds. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This position regularly requires long hours and frequent weekend work. Travel No travel is expected for this position. Preferred Education and Experience High school diploma or GED. Prior server and/or bartending experience. Additional Eligibility Qualifications Must be eligible for and maintain SIDA badge required to work in airport. Must be 21 or older. MUST hold a valid certification from a ‘Responsible Alcohol Service’ organization (such as TIPS, or ServSafe Alcohol, 21-Proof, etc.). Must be able to communicate with our Guests (customers) in English language. Work Authorization Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
