THE ROLE POSITION PROFILE

The Harpeth Hotel in historic downtown Franklin is looking for Food Runners to join our team! Our AM Food Runners will d eliver food to guests in a friendly, professional and knowledgeable manner and act as liaison between the front of house staff and back of house staff to ensure smooth food delivery. Shifts are available 7 days a week. We offer medical, dental, vision benefits and more for full-time team members

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION

Coordinate food orders to guarantee timely and efficient delivery to guests. Maintain knowledge of all ingredient details to each dish on the menu. Communicate clearly with the kitchen and front of house staff. Maintain our high food safety and sanitation standards. Deliver food to guests in both the dining room and guest rooms. Take all in room dining orders communicating with guest daily specials, estimated time of arrival, cash in advance/room charge policy, in accordance with policies and procedures to ensure top quality guest service. Process guest checks and perform all cash handling responsibilities in accordance with hotel policies and procedures. Complete all shift side work as outlined in the hotel’s operating policies and procedures. Respond to customer needs, issues, comments and problems to ensure a quality experience and enhance future sales. Report all communications to immediate shift supervisor. Conduct floor sweeps and retrieve all food and beverage trays in order to maintain established sanitation guidelines. Set-up and deliver all VIP amenities. Service all hospitality suites in accordance with BEO and established policy and procedures. Check with guest to ensure that they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems.

DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

High school education or equivalent experience

Experience:

Six months – 1 year in a food/beverage services environment or establishment

Skills and Abilities:

Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment under pressure at times. Understand and be knowledgeable of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures. Must have manual coordination to punch buttons, grasp items in hand, and carry containers and trays loaded with food and liquids. Able to read, speak and understand English. Able to lift, push, carry 20 – 40 lbs. Stand continuously for long periods of time. Communicate information and hotel services to management, staff and guests.
