Position Overview The Associate Vice President of Finance & Administration (AVP) is a mission-aligned executive leader who ensures financial stability, organizational compliance, and operational effectiveness across the agency. This role is pivotal to sustaining and expanding OIC’s work in the community. As a trusted thought partner to the CEO and executive team, the AVP leads the organization’s finance, HR, and administration functions—driving financial strategy, accountability, and a strong people infrastructure to support OIC’s growing impact. Key Leadership Areas Financial Strategy & Oversight Lead all fiscal operations: budgeting, forecasting, audits, accounting, grant financials, reimbursements, and cash flow. Prepare timely and accurate financial reports for internal leadership, board committees, and funders. Manage indirect cost rate negotiations and ensure regulatory compliance across all funding sources. Maintain strong internal controls aligned with GAAP and OMB guidelines; ensure unqualified audits. Drive strategic use of resources and data-informed financial planning. Ensure compliance with grant and contract requirements, including allowable cost tracking, reporting, and documentation. Oversee restricted and unrestricted funding streams and ensure proper allocation. Lead the annual audit process and coordinate all related activities with external auditors. Operational Excellence & Compliance Supervise finance and accounting staff; provide mentorship and promote professional development. Continuously improve and automate financial systems, tools, and reporting processes. Collaborate across departments to build financial literacy, transparency, and accountability. Human Resources & Organizational Development Oversee HR operations including recruitment, onboarding, payroll, benefits, and compliance. Lead a people-first HR strategy that is values-aligned and results-driven. Optimize Paychex HRIS to enhance efficiency, engagement, and data accuracy. Serve as staff liaison to the Board HR Committee; support internal leadership development. Strategic Leadership & Collaboration Advise the CEO and Executive Team on financial strategy and organizational health. Partner on grant development, planning, and strategic growth initiatives. Present financial and operational reports to the Board of Directors and Finance Committee. Contribute to long-term strategic planning and a high-performing, mission-driven culture.
