Job Description

This position provides comprehensive day-to-day administration, consultative services, and technical support for benefit related services and programs offered by USF Health. The HR Consultant interprets, counsels, and ensures compliance in the Florida State Retirement Programs, Health Insurance Programs, and various other USF benefit programs. Additionally, this position facilitates benefit and retirement programs specific to the faculty members under the Morsani College of Medicine (MCOM), as well as Academic Support Fund (ASF) payroll related matters. In this role, the HR Consultant develops and delivers relevant communiques, training, and maintains accurate information on the offered benefits. Serves as a subject matter expert and key resource in the benefit program management at USF Health. Facilitates monthly payroll database entries and billing analysis of all enrollees in the MCOM benefits plans, for payments to insurance companies.

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree and two years of HR related experience. Six years of HR-related experience or a combination of education and experience may substitute for the Bachelor’s degree.

Grow Here .For USF Health colleges, serves as the lead benefits representative contact responsible for counseling faculty on benefits programs; responds to employee inquiries; provides guidance in policy interpretation, and resolves issues. Processes new hire benefits enrollments with insurance carriers to ensure proper coverage are activated. Manages employee payroll database system for payroll, benefits and retirement programs enrollments & processes. Works closely with outside agencies and related software systems to facilitate benefits coverages, transactions, reporting and problem solving.

Benefits Communication and Training:

Creates, organizes, and updates relevant communications, forms, and materials. Educates employees on benefits aspects, at all levels. Conducts training sessions on benefits and retirement plan content, and enrollment processes to new hires and others as appropriate. Advises management and employees on proper administration or protocols, related to specified issues.

USF Health Benefits Liaison:

Serves as liaison for USF Health faculty (Morsani College of Medicine, Taneja College of Pharmacy, College of Public Health, and College of Nursing) to resolve benefit issues with appropriate agency.
