$39.5K – $46.9K a year 22 hours ago Qualifications Customer service Math Bachelor’s degree Ellucian Communication skills Entry level Full Job Description As a veterans benefit specialist, you will monitor veterans affairs (VA) student registration, scholarships, and financial aid to ensure accurate billing information for student accounts regarding expected VA payments. You will manage the Veteran Readiness and Employment program’s supply inventories, paperwork, student interactions, and all invoices via Tungsten. You will perform similar tasks for various miscellaneous state programs. Responsibilities include the collection and logging of certificates of eligibility and authorizations, note entry on individual accounts, and completion of the certification process. Additionally, you will monitor registration changes to update certifications with the VA, assist with the VA debt management process, and notify students of certification issues that could prevent them from receiving payments. In this role, you will assist VA students and families via phone and email, process ACH payments, and ensure accurate student accounts for tuition assistance participants. You will provide certifications for VA programs through the enrollment manager system and maintain knowledge of the VA School Certifying Official (SCO) Handbook. Responsibilities include processing wire transfers, serving as a contact for student financial advisers on veteran education benefits, and reviewing reports for accuracy before the monthly student statement cycle. Additionally, you will maintain a thorough understanding of Banner, with emphasis on accounts receivable and financial aid modules, Application Xtender, and TouchNet. The ideal candidate demonstrates acute attention to detail, alongside strong math and communication skills. They offer exemplary customer service with a student-focused mindset and are comfortable working with various technologies.

Work Hours:

The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
