JOB SUMMARY
The benefitsspecialist is responsible for assisting with the administration ofall benefits, and retirement programs, including medical, dental,vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, 401(k)plan, LOA, and Medical Support Orders (MSO’s).
SUPERVISORYRESPONSIBILITIES ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Responsibilities:
Ensures theaccuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendorswith accurate eligibility information. Conducts benefits educationportion of new hire orientations in conjunction with the HRGeneralist. Assists with open enrollment process, including,communications development and distribution, OE system testing, andeducational webinars. Performs quality checks of benefits-relateddata. Monitors Benefits Department email and assists employees andmanagers with their benefits questions or issues. Providesadditional assistance when employees are experiencing issues withinsurance carriers. Processes and administers leave-of-absence,accommodation requests, and applicable disability paperwork.
Manages the MSO Process (Medical Support Orders). Assists with ACAcompliance and management of 1095C’s. Responds to 401(k) inquiriesfrom managers and employees relating to enrollments, plan changesand contribution amounts. Processes some of the department monthlyinvoicing. Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
educationand/or experience: Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of EmployeeBenefits experience required, ideally in a medium to large rapidlygrowing organization. SHRM-CP or PHR preferred. CEBS and/orCompletion of specialized certification or training on FMLA/leaveadministration a plus. knowledge, skills, and abilities: Knowledgeof employee benefits and applicable laws including leaverequirements and other legal protections afforded by the FMLA, ADA,and other applicable leave laws. Excellent written and verbalcommunication skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solvingskills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on acomputer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
