Job Summary:
Provides specialized administrative functions for the human resources benefits department, applying comprehensive knowledge and understanding of employee benefits policies and procedures.
Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent and three (3) years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education/experience. May be required to demonstrate proficiency in commonly used work processing and spreadsheet programs at the intermediate level of proficiency.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED
NA Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of employee benefits, principles, practices, and procedures; standard office equipment and calculators; standard Microsoft software including currently used programs and databases, spreadsheets, word processing, and/or employee information systems; basic record keeping principles and procedures; basic mathematics; and current office methods, practices, and procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs complex administrative duties directly related to employee benefits, including performing system data entry in HRIS to update benefit records and setting up one-time benefit payroll deductions.
Interprets, applies, and explains policies and procedures related to employee benefits.
Responds to phone or email inquiries, conferring with appropriate team members for additional information when necessary and acts as an information resource.
May prepare monthly billing for benefit plans.
Collects information from a variety of documents pertinent to employee benefits; compiles data for reports; and prepares reports as required.
Maintains and monitors records and files; follows-up on due dates; and performs other monitoring functions to ensure that responses, changes, reports, and compliance matters are dealt with on a timely basis.
