Job Description

Adecco Permanent Recruitment, on behalf of its client in Charlotte, is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll and Benefits Specialist to join our client’s team and play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll and benefits. This position will handle multi-state payroll as well as support the administration of employee benefits. The ideal candidate is organized, discreet, and passionate about maintaining compliance and delivering excellent service to employees. You will Process bi-weekly/multi-state payrol l for employees using Paylocit y, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations Maintain employee records related to payroll, time tracking, tax withholdings, and direct deposit information Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure proper deductions for benefits, taxes, and other withholdings Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, pay stubs, tax forms, and time-off balances Assist in the administration of employee benefits program s, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement plans Support open enrollment processes and ensure accurate enrollment and changes in benefit systems Coordinate with benefits providers for escalated issues (no vendor negotiation required) Ensure compliance with company policies, labor laws, and reporting requirements Assist with audits related to payroll and benefits, including year-end reporting and reconciliation You have Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related fiel d preferr ed (Accounting strongly preferred) Five (5) years of experience in payroll processing and benefits administration, preferably wit h multi-sta te experience Familiarity wit h Payloci ty or similar HRIS/payroll platforms required. Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax laws, and benefits administration. High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality Excellent communication and organizational skills Ability to meet deadlines and handle sensitive information with integrity Bonus Skills Experience with HRIS integrations or payroll system transition Knowledge of ACA, COBRA, FMLA, and other federal/state benefit compliance Experience in timely and accurate filing of payroll taxes with federal, state, and local agencies Our client offers an excellent work environment and a strong benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, 401k, tuition reimbursement.
