Benefits Administrator 3.8 3.8 out of 5 stars Portsmouth, NH 03801 • Hybrid work Service Credit Union is seeking a Benefits Administrator who will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day administration of employee benefit programs, including but not limited to medical, dental, life insurance, mental health, FSA, tuition assistance, pension and 401(k) plans. The Benefits Administrator is the liaison between the vendors and employees and is required to support the HR team during new employee orientation and other related activities.

Pay:

$60, 400. Flexible based on experience.

Position Responsibilities:

Assist with the administration of employee benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement plans, FSA/HSA, tuition assistance and wellness programs. Serve as a point of contact for employee benefit inquiries, providing timely and accurate information regarding coverage, eligibility, claims, and enrollment processes. Process benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations in our HRIS. Support the coordination, communication and execution of annual benefits open enrollment and new hire enrollment processes, including system setup, employee education, and communication. Maintain accurate and up-to-date SPD’s and benefits records and ensure data integrity within all systems. This includes accurate and timely reconciliations. Prepare and deliver in-person benefit presentations for new hire orientation sessions. Prepare virtual presentations for our remote employee population, to ensure they have a clear understanding of their benefit options. Visit departments and branches to offer personalized benefit overviews to employees. Collaborate with our broker, vendors, insurance carriers, and internal departments to ensure smooth plan operations and resolve escalated claims or service issues. Develop and implement employee communication materials, FAQ, and internal resources to increase awareness and engagement with benefit offerings. Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations related to benefits (e.g., ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA). Create and file annual ACA 1095-C’s. Manages the tuition assistance benefit in accordance with policy. Support audits and generate reports related to benefits data as needed. Reconcile all monthly billings for benefit products including GL accounts for COBRA, Retiree benefits. Ensure current and new benefit offerings are properly configured in our HRIS. Review weekly payroll reports for benefit deduction accuracies. Attend benefit review and renewal meetings, assisting in evaluating current benefit programs and recommending enhancements or new offerings to align with the employee needs and organizational goals. Prepare annual reporting for retirement plans (census, data for Non-Discrimination Testing) and assist with annual retirement plan audits as necessary. Assist in the administration of the company’s 401(k) plan, including enrollments, changes, employee loans, and employee communications. Responsible for required Pension and 401(k) plan required notices. Assist the Leaves Benefits Administrator with administering leaves of absence in accordance with internal policies and legal requirements. Assist with Service CU Department and Corporate Projects for HR, and other Departments’ Corporate Projects upon request. Assist and participate in HR sponsored events. Maintain confidentiality regarding credit union policies and procedures, member financial data, personal information, and work-related events. Provide quality support and maintain a professional relationship with peers, management, other staff, and members through cooperation, mutual trust and respect. Perform other duties as required.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

Knowledge of benefits regulations and compliance requirements. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced work environment. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. Excellent interpersonal, presentation and organizational skills. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. Proficient with Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Power point, and various web-based applications required. Strong math skills required Workday and HRIS experience preferred. Self-funded plan experience a plus.

Education/Experience/Certifications:
Education:

College degree preferred or equivalent experience in Human Resources.

Experience:

Minimum 3 years experience in Human Resources. Certification(s): Human Resource certifications preferred.
