Job Description

Description We are looking for a dedicated Payroll & Benefits Specialist to join our team in Paterson, New Jersey. In this long-term contract role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring compliance with prevailing wage laws a while managing payroll processes for construction projects. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the accurate administration of payroll and benefits in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Process payroll in strict compliance with prevailing wage laws
  • Prepare and submit certified payroll reports to ensure regulatory compliance for federally funded projects.
  • Monitor subcontractor payroll submissions, ensuring accuracy and adherence to prevailing wage standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of payroll transactions, including fringe benefits and deductions, for audits and reporting.
  • Facilitate communication with subcontractors to clarify prevailing wage requirements and ensure compliance.
  • Oversee payroll processes for union employees, adhering to union agreements and wage determinations.
  • Implement prevailing wage projects and ensure employees are compensated appropriately.
  • Utilize accounting and payroll systems, such as ADP Workforce Now and Ceridian Dayforce, to streamline operations.
  • Coordinate benefits administration, including 401k and RRSP plans, ensuring accurate processing and compliance.
  • Conduct periodic audits of payroll and benefits systems to identify and resolve discrepancies. Requirements
  • Proven experience in payroll processing, specifically within the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of prevailing wage laws and certified payroll reporting.
  • Proficiency in payroll and accounting systems such as ADP Workforce Now, Ceridian, or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with union payroll processes and benefit administration.
  • Ability to manage detailed records and prepare accurate reports.
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with subcontractors and team members.
  • Solid understanding of auditing and compliance practices.
