Job Description
Overview This is a hybrid role based out of Malvern, PA (3 days in office) The Leave of Absence Specialist position provides front-line, best of class customer service to all CubeSmart teammates through the administration of CubeSmart’s leave of absence and workers compensation programs. This role is also responsible for providing analytical support to the Benefits Manager and Human Resources team.

Responsibilities Serve as the primary point of contact for leave of absences by tracking and coordinating teammates leaves with the Human Resources Business Partners, disability and LOA carrier, workers compensation carrier and people managers. Track employees’ leave of absence and workers compensation incidents, review trends and analytics; present finding and make recommendations to Sr. Benefits Manager, Director of Shared Services and CHRO Manage ADA accommodations by engaging in the interactive process with employees and managers Provide all state or federal notifications to teammates to ensure CubeSmart is compliant. Ensure leave program is compliant with applicable local, state, and federal laws. Stay abreast of emerging legislation (i.e. changes to paid family leave & sick leave laws) to recommend adjustments as needed including developing a plan for implementation and managing execution. Ensure managers receive leave of absence process training to ensure consistency. Actively manage all disability, leave and worker compensation vendor relationships and collaborate with our partners to quickly and effectively resolve teammates’ issues Ensure HRIS system reflects teammates’ leave of absences status by processing and auditing teammate change via our internal Notice of Change system. As needed, serves as a point of contact for all CubeSmart teammate questions related to all Company benefits programs including health and welfare, Health Savings, Flexible Spending, 401k, Life and disability, etc. Qualifications Preferred Bachelor’s degree and three to five years of leave of absence, workers compensation and employee benefits administration experience. Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements, both adopted and pending, affecting employee leave of absences and workers compensation including FMLA and ADA. Microsoft Office Proficient – experience with Excel and managing large amounts of data. Experience with multiple HRIS/Payroll systems preferred Skills/Traits Exemplifies and embraces CubeSmart’s award winning WOW! Customer service culture. Strong collaboration skills and ability to coordinate communications and decision making across departments. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Able to meet multiple concurrent deadlines. Quick learner. Ability to learn new areas and get up to speed quickly. Strong aptitude towards efficiency, quality and consistency as well as a focus on attention to detail and customer service. Ability to deal with difficult situations involving, sensitive and confidential teammate issues. Qualifications:
