PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist with the administration of all benefit programs, including new employee enrollment and annual open enrollment. Track individual employee enrollment or declination decision for each benefit program offered. Ensure all required documents are received and filed in employee file. Answer employee inquiries regarding benefit programs. Assist employees (and covered family members) to resolve claim issues, requesting new identification cards, etc. Assist in resolution of administrative problems with carrier representatives. Escalate unresolved and/or complicated issues to management and broker as needed. Assist in resolution of issues related to HRIS in processing of benefits. Ensure the accuracy of all benefit enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information. Conduct benefits meetings, including during new hire orientation to educate employees on available benefits. Assist with arranging employee benefit events, including health fairs, shot clinics and retirement education meetings. HR Liaison for employee Wellness Committee to develop and promote campaigns and schedule wellness events to promote a healthy lifestyle and/or participation in fitness and wellness programs. Reconcile monthly billing for all benefit programs, ensure accuracy of billing, investigate, and resolve discrepancies. Process payments to benefits vendors. Balance general ledger accounts related to Human Resources and benefits monthly. Maintain monthly benefit reports and assist in the preparation of spreadsheets for Human Resources, as requested. Process COBRA events through the Credit Union’s third-party administrator. Process benefits terminations. Prepare benefits termination letter and applicable documents, and ensure employees are terminated in HRIS and benefit provider databases. Perform quality checks of benefits-related data. Ensure accurate record keeping and compliance with all state and federal regulations. Review monthly 1095 C reporting information. Asist with researching and making recommendations for new benefits products based on current trends and employee feedback. Assist with the implementation of new vendors and/or benefits offerings. Create monthly educational piece for HR newsletter. Maintain up-to-date instruction manuals and template letters/e-mails for this position. Prepare reports using third-party reporting programs, including reports for other departments, as requested. Assist in maintaining benefits documentation in the Human Resources electronic filing system. Cross train to back up processing of bi-weekly payroll. Assist employees and management team members with general HR questions, issues, or needs. Follow all Credit Union policies, procedures, and regulations. Represent the Credit Union in a professional manner (including but not limited to appearance, behavior, and performance). Maintain regular and predictable attendance. Work cooperatively with others. All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience

  • Associates Degree in Human Resources or Business from an accredited college or university preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Two or more years of benefit administration/timekeeping and payroll processing experience with a mid-sized company. Familiarity with relevant laws such as

ACA, COBRA, ERISA.
