Job Description
Position Purpose:
The Director of Payroll and Benefits is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the organization’s payroll processing, including compliance with regulations, and managing employee benefit plans, ensuring their accurate administration and strategic design to meet company needs and employee expectations. Leads a team of payroll specialists and collaborates closely with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting. Key Accountabilities Oversee the entire payroll process, ensuring timely and accurate payment of employee salaries and wages. Develop and maintain payroll policies and procedures in compliance with federal, state and local regulations. Monitor payroll data for accuracy and resolve any discrepancies. Collaborate with HR to process new hires, promotions, transfers and terminations. Design, implement and manage employee benefit plans including health insurance, retirement plans, life insurance and disability coverage. Conduct employee benefit education and enrollment process. Analyze and negotiate with benefits providers to ensure cost-effectiveness and optimal coverage options. Monitor benefit plan compliance with regulations and legal requirements. Develop and execute long-term strategies for payroll and benefits programs aligned with company goals. Conduct cost analysis and identify opportunities for cost savings within benefits plans. Lead, manage and develop a team of payroll specialists. Delegate tasks and ensure efficient workflow within the team.
