Located on a lush tropical campus, our flagship hospital, 1,368-bed AdventHealth Orlando
Serves as the major tertiary facility for much of the Southeast, the Caribbean and South America
AdventHealth Orlando houses one of the largest Emergency Departments and largest cardiac catheterization labs in the country
We are already one of the busiest hospitals in the nation, providing service excellence to more than 32,000 inpatients and 125,000 outpatients each year
The role you’ll contribute:
The Director of Strategic Design (DSD) will be responsible for developing and executing plans to build a culture of innovation at all levels of the organization. The DSD will be responsible for developing and leading a team that uses a human-centered, design-based approach to co-create the most effective and sustainable solutions to the organization’s top challenges/possibilities. The DSD will ensure empathy is gathered from various levels of the organization in concert with consumers to design and rapidly develop prototypes, lead cycles of improvement and ensure appropriate deployment and results are achieved.

Develop guiding principles, internal philosophy on innovation and strategies for design center to ensure success.
Inspire others to contribute to the positive culture of innovation through formal and informal presentations at the AdventHealth Leadership Institute, Design Center and in the field. Provide colleagues across the company (executives to front line staff) the tools needed for success.
Provide senior leadership to the design of innovation labs. • Provide senior leadership to data capture, research and publications based on work at the design center.
Provide inspiring leadership to design team, cultivating a learning, creative and highly productive environment
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed :
Bachelor’s • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Healthcare Administration, Design Thinking, Human Centered Design, Innovation, Sociology, Psychology or like degree
10 years’ experience in design and/or healthcare.
Project management experience defining scope, budget, and managing project schedule 2/28/22 .
