Responsibilities:

The Manager, Workers Compensation, is responsible for leading a high-paced, highly regulated team of Claims Representatives and Vocational specialists. Responsibilities include but are not limited to supervision of all aspects of claims handling, including the claim investigation, rehabilitation, return to work, establishment, and maintenance of appropriate claim reserves, timely adjuster action on all aspects of claims handling, bill payment authorization, accurate and timely indemnity payments, appropriate and effective planning and execution of claims settlement, surveillance, medical issues, and legal strategy for claims administered by direct reports. This position requires a candidate who demonstrates a commitment to safety, service, and support. The ideal candidate is an experienced leader who inspires and develops a team, fosters partnerships, role models exceptional business savvy, provides business expertise and support, and actively collaborates with partners.

Key Areas of Focus:

Lead, support, and coach Workers’ Compensation Cast Members Oversight of Self-Insured Workers Compensation claims within the Florida jurisdiction. Escalate incidents with significant exposure. Help set, implement, and achieve department goals and strategies. Review claim files for timeliness, accuracy, and action planning to bring files to successful and cost-effective resolution. Partner with the Legal Department in review of litigated files and complex legal matters Foster and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders – operational partners, excess carriers, Legal, Health Services, Safety and Security Onboard and train new

Workers Compensation Managers and Claims Representatives Required Qualifications :

Florida 6-20 All-Lines adjuster license in good standing Proven expert with a solid understanding of managing workers’ compensation claims within the Florida jurisdiction. Demonstrated ability to lead a team and work independently as necessary and effectively Ability to work under deadline pressures while handling multiple priorities, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail Proven proactive communicator with strong written, verbal, and presentation skills who can interface effectively at all company levels and appropriately influence business results through negotiation, persuasion, and personal presence. Demonstrated ability to deliver concise but informative written summaries in memo and presentation format, with appropriate usage and professional grammar Ability to demonstrate and exercise excellent judgment where safety is the first priority Ability to display and role model inclusive behaviors, showing respect for the value of the diverse viewpoints, cultures, styles, and experiences of people Ability to manage and effectively prioritize multiple diverse objectives with a keen attention to detail Computer proficiency within a Windows environment, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams Demonstrated strong relationship-building, partnering, negotiating, and influencing abilities Demonstrated familiarity with automated claims administration systems and ability to work in multiple computer programs Demonstrated ability to handle highly confidential information Demonstrated excellent time management skills Ability to effectively prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment Demonstrated ability to positively adapt to added responsibilities and change Ability to handle special projects and assignments as needed Demonstrated understanding of medical and legal terminology
