About the

Role:

The Sr Manager, Benefits Compliance ensures Disney’s US benefits programs adhere to legal and regulatory requirements. You will be leading a team, interpreting and applying relevant laws, monitoring for changes, overseeing effective administration practices related to benefit plan compliance, and providing guidance to management on benefits compliance matters. This position can be based in one of our office locations in Celebration, Fl, Bristol, CT or Burbank, CA.

What You Will Do:
COMPLIANCE

Lead a team responsible for compliance, vendor management, and annual enrollment deployment. Monitor and stay informed about federal, state, and local regulations related to employee benefits. Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory actions that may impact benefit plans to develop recommendations as appropriate Ensure company benefit plans and practices comply with applicable rules and regulations, including but not limited to ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, and ACA and other regulations. Develop and deliver benefits compliance training in collaboration with vendors partners. Manage relationships with benefits brokers/consultants/actuaries regarding compliance topics Support projects focusing on plan compliance. Respond to general inquiries, audits, document requests; prepare draft response for approval by management and submission to requesting agency.

COMMUNICATION/TRAINING

Develop and deliver benefits compliance training. Create educational materials for staff and clients on compliance requirements. Participate in industry organizations and vendor client forums to represent Disney interests. Communicate with key stakeholders about their benefits and any changes.

Qualifications and Skills:

5 or more years of experience in employee benefits administration and people management or equivalent experience 3 or more years of benefits compliance experience preferred. Able to independently research compliance issues arising from the foregoing laws using various research tools (e.g., white papers, government websites, industry publications etc.) Adept at reading and understanding complex regulatory guidance and collaborate with Legal counsel for interpretation and applicability to Disney programs. Lead revisions and annual review of plan documents, summary plan descriptions, and other regulatory filings Able to concisely answer questions in a readily understood manner Strong written and verbal communication, organization and multitasking skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team Expert knowledge of benefits compliance, reporting, and administration, including but not limited to: Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA) provisions that apply to health and welfare benefits plans (e.g., summary plan descriptions) Internal Revenue Code of 1986 (Code) provisions that apply to health and welfare benefits plans (e.g., cafeteria plans, change in status events) Affordable Care Act (ACA) provisions that apply to health and welfare benefits plans (e.g., preventive services, summary of benefits and coverage) Regulatory and legislative imperatives related to benefits program

Education:

The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
