Deerfield, Illinois Job descriptionThe Compensation Manager develops, implements, and administerscompensation programs across the organization to ensure externalcompetitiveness and alignment with Fortune Brands Innovations’Total Rewards objectives. As a key member of the GlobalCompensation team, you will actively manage Broad BasedCompensation projects and will be the Compensation partner for oneor more of Fortune Brands’ core functions or lines of businessproviding expertise, support and advice on all aspects ofcompensation. You will also serve as project lead for variousenterprise-wide compensation initiatives to identify opportunitiesfor enhancement and change in compensation programs, policies, andprocedures. This is a hands-on role requiring the ability tounderstand and work with complex data, demonstrate a take-actionmindset in a changing and growing environment, and exhibitattention to detail and accuracy from start to finish in completingprojects. Responsibilities Manage various globalcompensation-related projects which involve assessment andre-design of existing or development of new compensation programs.

This includes project management, partnering with appropriateinternal and external resources and ensuring that projects achievedesired goals and objectives. Partner with business leaders and HRBusiness Partners to address compensation challenges and concerns,including but not limited to talent retention, internalcompression, and market competitiveness. Provide advice and counseland design and implement solutions to address challenges. Evaluatenew and revised jobs as appropriate following Fortune BrandsInnovations’ job evaluation process Conduct and oversee marketpricing activities for purposes of making pay recommendations.

Manage Fortune Brands’ global annual planning cycle (salarybudgets, salary structures, merit review, incentives payoutplanning process) in collaboration with other center of expertisemembers such as Talent and HR Technology. This includesresponsibility for the configuration of technology platform forannual planning. Partners with HR Technology to ensure that FortuneBrands’ HR Technology System (Workday) meets Global compensationneeds and support Fortune Brands’ compensation objectives and ourannual planning needs. Ensure that the administration of variouscompensation programs are in compliance with establishedguidelines, processes and procedures. This will include programssuch as incentive compensation, sales compensation, annual meritreview cycle, pay changes. Conduct and participate in globalcompensation surveys or special compensation studies to maintainthe company’s competitive position within the marketplace. This mayrequire creation of market-specific surveys, establishment oftarget audience, communications, data collection, analysis, andfeedback on results. Develop and deliver communications, trainingand education for compensation programs targeting differentaudiences such as associates, managers, senior leaders and HRBusiness Partners. Ensure compliance with national,state/provincial and local compensation laws and regulations inlocations where Fortune Brands Innovations operates. Coach andmentor talent on the compensation team. May manage a direct report.

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in business, Human Resources or arelated field. Minimum of 10 years of progressive compensationexperience in a center of expertise or corporate compensationfunction or with a consulting firm providing compensationpartnership to business stakeholders. Minimum of 5 years leadinglarge compensation projects Workday experience including incentiveprocessing experience in Workday is required Experience within alarge, geographically dispersed, multi-site organization PreferredQualifications Experience in Sales Compensation and M&Aactivity. CCP (Certified Compensation Professional) completed orin-progress. Global Compensation experience. Background in globaland executive compensation practices and programs is a plusExperience working for a large, complex and matrixed company.

Demonstrated project management capability Enthusiasm for stayingupdated with the latest technological advancements in Compensationand HR Salary Range A reasonable estimate of the base salary rangefor this role is $105,000 USD – $165,000 USD. Fortune Brands believes in fair andequitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range forthis role is $105,000 USD – $165,000 USD. Please note that actualsalaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range,based on factors including, but not limited to, education,training, experience, professional achievement, business need, andlocation. In addition to base salary, employees will participate ineither an annual bonus plan based on company and individualperformance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
