The Senior Manager, Benefits Programs leads the strategy, administration, and delivery of the organization’s employee and post-retirement benefit programs. This role ensures programs remain competitive, compliant, and aligned with the organization’s goals. The incumbent manages a team of benefits professionals and serves as the primary liaison with external vendors and internal stakeholders, driving effective communication, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead the administration of employee and retiree benefit programs, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and exceptional service.
Evaluate and compare benefits offerings with market trends and peer institutions to maintain competitive positioning.
Manage a team of benefits professionals, providing coaching, performance feedback, and development opportunities.
Oversee benefits communication strategies, including annual enrollment events and employee education efforts.
Serve as the primary relationship manager for benefits vendors, ensuring service-level agreements and performance standards are met.
Monitor regulatory changes and ensure benefits programs are fully compliant with applicable laws and reporting requirements.
Develop and maintain policies and procedures related to benefits, ensuring clarity and accessibility.
Collaborate with HR leadership to design, implement, and evaluate new benefits initiatives aligned with organizational goals.
Analyze benefits data, report on key metrics, and identify opportunities for program improvements.
Lead or participate in internal benefits committees and cross-functional initiatives.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
8 years of experience in benefits administration with progressive HR experience with experience in a management or supervisory role preferred.
CBP, CEBS, PHR, or equivalent HR/benefits credentials preferred.
Proficiency with HRIS and benefits platforms (e.g., Empower, Workday, Retirement Focus), Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Strong Excel and data analysis skills.
Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
Ability to influence and collaborate across business functions and leadership levels.
Strong project management capabilities and organizational skills
