The Benefits & HRIS Manager is a new role with the Cambridge Public Schools and we are looking for someone to successfully lead and manage the Cambridge Public Schools’ benefits administration and HRIS functions. This position ensures accurate employee data management, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency. The Manager serves as the primary liaison for HRIS systems including PeopleSoft, Red Rover, Droplet, TeachPoint, and PowerSchool’s TalentEd Applicant Tracking System and Records. The Manager also oversees benefit processes such as tuition reimbursement, Master’s Plus credit processing, and service agreement management.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and support the HRIS and benefits team, including the Analyst, Coordinator, and Clerical Specialist. Lead the administration of employee benefits including health, dental, life, and retirement plans. Oversee the annual Open Enrollment process and employee communications. Ensure compliance with ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, and other federal/state requirements. Serve as lead administrator for Red Rover, Droplet, PeopleSoft, TeachPoint, and TalentEd systems. Manage the processing and reconciliation of tuition reimbursement and Master’s Plus credit submissions. Oversee service agreement processing and ensure accurate portal maintenance and workflow integrity. Collaborate with Payroll, IT, and the City Hall’s Office of Human Resources to maintain data consistency and reporting accuracy. Analyze systems and benefits data for trends and support strategic decision-making. Ensure confidentiality and data integrity in all systems and processes. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred. Minimum 5 years of experience in benefits administration and HRIS, including supervisory experience. Expertise in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas) and report generation. Experience using and managing Red Rover, Droplet, PeopleSoft, TeachPoint, and TalentEd platforms. Strong understanding of benefits regulations and compliance standards. Excellent written and verbal communication, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to lead with equity, manage multiple priorities, and improve systems.
Terms of Employment:
This is a full-time exempt position. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required to fulfill the responsibilities of the role. As an exempt employee, this position is not eligible for overtime compensation under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Manager’s level benefits package.
