JOB FUNCTION / SUMMARY
The Manager, Retirement Programs leads the design, administration, and oversight of the organization’s retirement benefit programs, ensuring alignment with the bank’s total rewards strategy and compliance with all regulatory requirements. Collaborates cross-functionally to deliver competitive, cost-effective retirement solutions that support talent attraction, retention, and long-term financial wellness.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the design, implementation, and administration of the organization’s 401(k) and defined benefit retirement plans
Partner with HR leadership and Finance to align retirement strategy with organizational goals and cost models
Manage vendor relationships, including performance reviews, service-level agreements, and contract negotiations
Ensure regulatory compliance and manage all required filings, audits, and plan documentation (e.g., 5500s, SPDs)
Oversee plan communications and education initiatives in partnership with internal stakeholders and vendors
Monitor plan performance, utilization, and trends to identify risks and opportunities for improvement
Serve as a subject matter expert and liaison to the Benefits Committee, supporting agenda development and reporting
Stay current on benefits legislation and retirement plan innovations; recommend enhancements as needed
Lead and develop benefits professionals, fostering engagement and performance
Respond to escalated associate inquiries and resolve complex benefit issues with empathy and accuracy
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, or related field; CEBS, CBP, or SHRM certification preferred
Minimum 6 years of experience in employee retirement benefits; financial services industry preferred
At least 2 years of leadership experience, with demonstrated success managing programs or teams
In-depth knowledge of ERISA, IRS, DOL, and
SECURE 2.0
regulations
Strong analytical, vendor management, and project management skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and HRIS/benefits systems (e.g., Workday, Fidelity, Alight)
Excellent communication and presentation skills with ability to influence senior leaders

Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines
Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 20 pounds if required to perform the essential job functions.
