The Benefits Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management, administration, compliance, and communication of employee benefit programs, including health and welfare plans, retirement plans, leave programs, and ancillary benefits. This role ensures that all benefits programs are administered efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations – while providing outstanding support to employees. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned. Manage the daily operations of employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives. Serve as primary point of contact for employees, vendors, and internal teams regarding benefits inquiries and issue resolution. Oversee benefits enrollment processes, including open enrollment, new hire onboarding, and qualifying life event changes. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, and ACA. Manage vendor relationships to ensure service quality and cost-effectiveness. Develop and deliver benefits communication materials, presentations, and resources to educate employees on available programs and changes. Process and reconcile monthly benefits invoices, ensuring accuracy of enrollments, adjustments, and timely payments. Collaborate with payroll, HRIS, and finance teams to ensure accurate benefits deductions and reporting. Manage leaves of absences processes, coordinating with third-part administrators and internal stakeholders. Support audits, reporting, and annual filings such as ACA and Form 5500. Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. 5+ years in benefits administration with demonstrated experience managing multiple benefits plans and programs. Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and benefits regulations and compliance requirements. Adept in benefits administration systems and HRIS, especially Dayforce. Experience managing a team of direct reports, fostering a results-driven environment through clear expectations, regular feedback, and professional development. Excellent communication, customer service and problem-solving skills.
