In this role, you will lead Guardian’s retirement benefits strategy and execution, ensuring that programs such as 401(k), deferred compensation, and defined benefit plans are competitive, compliant, and aligned with business and colleague needs. This position oversees a team of retirement and benefits professionals and serves as a key advisor on plan design, colleague engagement, and regulatory matters. With deep expertise in retirement plan strategy and a passion for improving financial wellness, you will shape the future of Guardian’s retirement offerings to attract and retain top talent. You are A strategic thinker with deep retirement expertise who can turn complex plan design into meaningful, colleague-centric programs. A collaborative leader who builds strong relationships across HR, legal, finance, and vendors. An effective communicator who brings clarity to technical topics and inspires action through data-driven insights. You have 15+ years of proven experience in employee benefits strategy and retirement plan design, including 401(k), pension, and deferred compensation. Strong working knowledge of ERISA and other relevant regulatory frameworks. Experience in HR consulting, colleague engagement strategies, and financial wellness programming. The ability to translate complex benefit concepts into clear, engaging colleague communications. You will Lead a team of benefits professionals and oversees execution of Guardian’s retirement and broader benefits strategy, with a focus on long-term plan design and colleague impact. Oversee plan design and administration for defined contribution (401(k)), defined benefit (pension), and deferred compensation plans, ensuring alignment with total rewards objectives and financial wellness goals. Lead audits and assessments to ensure compliance with ERISA, IRS, and DOL requirements, proactively identifying and mitigating risks. Develop and implement targeted communication and education strategies to drive colleague engagement and understanding of retirement programs, contributing to overall financial wellness. Partner with vendors and internal teams to conduct benchmarking, market research, and competitive analysis to evolve plan offerings and stay ahead of trends in retirement benefits. Serve as a strategic advisor during HR and enterprise-wide initiatives (e.g., total rewards transformation), ensuring retirement strategy is well-integrated and effectively communicated across stakeholder groups. You have The ability to work effectively within the organization’s financial and operational context. Demonstrated financial and analytical acumen to synthesize and prioritize ranging issues and activities, thus be highly effective in formulating coordinated action plans and activities. The ability to handle, analyze, interpret, and communicate data effectively and responsibly to drive business outcomes. Demonstrated strong analytical and assessment skills. The ability to develop and execute solutions to business challenges and to influence strategic business decisions. Ability to build relationships and quickly earn the trust of leaders, partners, key stakeholders, and collaborators, build credibility, and become their trusted advisor. The ability to use excellent judgment while working with multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Natural degree of high curiosity and continual willingness to learn. Proven project leader experience in a highly matrixed organization working across many businesses. Reporting Relationship As our Head of Retirement, you will report to our Head of Benefits, who reports to our Head of Total Rewards. Location Hybrid role

Salary Range:
$129,500.00
- $212,750.
00 The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
